Floyd's case for being goat isnt dissimilar to trump
I'd already put Trump among the 5 best US presidents (Teddy Roosevelt at #1) and he's only a short length into his term. Floyd was never THAT good. Trump has restored an entire generation's faith in democracy.

Floyd is inside the top 20 for sure. He's done things that few boxers have accomplished. He is the only undefeated 5 division champion in the sports history, the only fighter to be the unified champion in two weight classes simultaneously. One of only 3 fighters to go 26-0 in title fights. And statistically the greatest defender in 30 years of the sport.

Not many guys have accomplished more than Floyd.

Sure Hopkins didnt win all those fights, but I believe he was a heavy underdog in nearly all of them. Especially given how old he was in many of those fights. To me that's far more impressive than what Mayweather did

Non of us posting here watched Robinson's career we can't taste him highly based on someone elses opinion. Louis has a terrible resume foreman had a great resume but didn't accomplish more than Floyd we can go back and forth

another one of these passive aggressive ''im neutral'' type bs threads. THE SPORT will place him where he belongs. haters will have to sulk about it and make more threads.

SO if you were number 1 on the domestic scene you were automatically best in the world. That era was weaker, not stronger. I dont understand how an era in which less countries participated in boxing, is considered stronger than the current one? If the weight classes today were made up purely of americans then of course its going to be easier to look good. What would jacobs cv look like if middlweight was just made of americans? Wilder would look unbeateable at heavyweight. Russell would be ruling the roost as there would be no lomachenko.
                  You're wrong.

There were more fighters in New York City in the 1920s than than there are in the whole world today.

There were 50,000 registered fighters back then, in comparison with 15,000 today. Competition was way more fierce, plus NO DUCKING. You fought everybody, often 3,4,5 times until there was a definitive winner.

Plus, you fought 15 rds, not 12

Plus, you don't have the trainers like Eddie Futch, Angelo Dundee, Ray Arcel, etc. . .to mold guys. Boxing skill has eroded tremendously, just ask any old school experts.

the skill elvel looks a whole lot better when i compare modern fighters to the old black and white clips. apart from the heavyweights.

How are any of those names better than anything Floyd did. Did you just name Shumenov with a straight face? Also giving credit for losing to Roy?
