Yeah, the guys from 50 years ago maybe, but for guys in his generation, it definitely separates him from even Pacquiao, Jones, Hopkins, De La Hoya, Barrera, etc. . .
I never intended to compare him to like Willie Pep & Sugar Ray Robinson & guys like that, just saying that for the modern era (with all the belts)dude is as good as it gets.
Personally I would put Hopkins above him, I just think Hopkins challenged himself more. He went up against many live opponents in their prime (usually younger, bigger and stronger than him) and in many instances was a massive underdog, but still ended up schooling his opponents.

It's possible if it's a ranking based on just skill alone. But for a full ranking a big part of it is resume as well. He can never be ahead of guys like Ali, Robinson, Leonard, Louis, Foreman, etc. due to that.

Maybe I'll give you that one. But what puts him in high regard is holding the world title for 10 straight years. Whether it's no fault of his own or whomever, I just think what holds back Floyd from historians placing him above a lot of the older fighters is due to the whole holding out on fighting guys or not fighting them at all no matter who's at fault for it. Floyd/Pacquiao should have happened in 2010 or 2011. He should have fought Paul Williams. With Margarito he should get a pass on that one due to obvious reasons. The Cotto & Mosley fights should have happened 3 or so years before they did. He shouldn't have fought Berto in his last night either. You don't hear about these types of things with the older generation so they're held in higher regard. Floyd was like the Hulk Hogan of Boxing where he was a businessman first & foremost & didn't care what others thought of who he fought & when he fought them.
