We are having an open discussion here about what GGG's worth is, based on his earnings history and PPV numbers.

You DONT work with boxing contracts, you ARE NOT a boxing CPA/Financial expert, you dont know all the details of the negotiations so if your going to play a game of monopoly with fake money, go ahead and do that for entertainment purposes but dont think for one second any here knows better about GGG's financial direction than he, his management, his lawyer, and his financial experts. Your problem is you think Lil g is a name.

He isn't.

With a guy like Lemieux (who has his own fans) in historic MSG, Golovkin couldn't crack 150K buys. Some said as low as 97K buys.

That is next level chutzpah if you then think you deserve a split.

Once you get it thru your dome that as much as we (more sophisticated fans) know Lil g might merit it, the market says otherwise and that is what PPV is all about.

Split versus flat fee shouldn't matter.

The only thing that does is whether or not Golovkin is getting compensated fairly based on his drawing power compared to Canelo's.

Presumably Canelo's team knows about boxing contracts and negotiations. And they say Golovkin has been given a good offer but is asking for more than he is worth.

It DOES matter because GGG and his management and financial team make decisions based on their knowledge which is greater than everyone here on Boxingscene since the inception of this site, combined. They returned a counter offer and that is how it stands. I will trust their decision over these BScene wannabe boxing management experts and financial experts any day.

Because you have no idea what numbers the fight generates. So 15m could end up as 75% or 15%, both grossly unfair. That's why flat fees never happen for fights this big. The fair way is obvious, not sure why so much resistance

This isn't about fair.

And frankly, boxing is full of big fights where the purse (even with a split) wasn't fair.

This is about opportunity.

This is about Lil g taking his place in history by beating an elite fighter closer to his own size.

With 15 million guaranteed and bonafide stardom mixed in, he shouldn't hesitate.

The irony is that whenever Golovkin has been a clear A side he has been much more ruthless in his negotiation than Canelo is being.
