You've been studying math under Scipio? The face of boxing Canelo just did 2x what GGG sold vs a no name (before Canelos infamous forfeit). Jacobs might do 1/2 of Khan numbers, and he's a lesser B side.$15 million is a great offer, period. Golovkin should jump at it and beat Canelo, then he can dictate terms for the lucrative rematch.
As far as splits go....basing it on each guy's PPV history the 90/10 split that De La Hoya threw out there is probably not that far out of line.
Golovkin hasn't proven himself to be a big PPV draw. Am I wrong to say that? It's the truth even if GGG's management and financial team don't want it to be so.Comment

It is the super fight of the year, the number one fight in boxing and should come in at 65/35 in favor of Canelo. None of the past numbers would accurately display what this fight would make because these guys can only make huge numbers against each other unless another superstar comes along so you offer the A side the biggest percent within reason.Comment

The fans responsible for 1M plus PPVs don't even know what is going on between Canelo and Lil g.There's a lot at stake for Canelo. You can't be the face of boxing if you're perceived to be ducking the biggest fight in the sport. GGG might lock in all 4 belts soon, what's Canelo gonna do, remain a side show till GGG moves up or retires? You see how Max slapped him around after Smith for his ducking? It'll only get worse
And, as time goes on the narrative is turning in Canelo's favor.
It's Lil g who is the guy who said "154 to 168" then balked at 155, not even trying to negotiate a catchweight for a title that has been fought at catchweights the last 4 years or so.
And now, it's Lil g who has never made more than 5 million in one fight balking at 3 times that much, this at the weight that is being conceded to him.
I flat out disagree that it is Canelo who will suffer if the fight isn't made. Especially if he continues to fight other elite guys while Golovkin fights the Willie Monroes of the world.Comment

It's not about money. It's about Canelo not wanting the fight.
If Canelo wanted it he would've made the fight last year like he said he would.Comment

Yep :ANYWORD:How about all these BScene sudden financial experts who are known GGG haters offer the best advice possible and that is to contact GGG's team and tell them to not listen to all these BScene sudden financial experts, GGG haters! That would be excellent advice! Arum, Marquez, GGG's financial experts know more about a boxing contract than any of these keyboard H&R block wannabes.
Schaefer also said similar to JMM and Arum.Comment

Team Golovkin are doing the right thing by putting their foot down and holding out for a better deal imo.
I don't think GBP would offer what they truly felt he was worth as the first offer since they have plenty of time to negotiate and get the best deal. If $15 million is truly what they feel he is worth why not offer it in whatever percentage split it is equivalent rather than a flat fee? for example if it was equivalent to 60/40 that would be fair but of course they know 60/40 would bring a lot more for Golovkin so this flat fee sounds like a lot but in a split how much is that, 20-25%?
Canelo deserves the lion share and i'm sure Golovkin and his team know this deep down but there's a difference between making reasonable concessions and being a damn fool. I think Accepting a first offer with no split and pending PPV fights would be foolish.Last edited by Caught Square; 02-12-2017, 05:58 PM.Comment

Sure thing, all the Mexican greats are saying it's the biggest fight in the sport and Canelo will get away with Cotto 2 that nobody wants to see. Like I said, a side show, while Ggg is unifying all 4 belts and breaking the MW defense record, all by KO. If Canelo is fine with that, fine, his star is just gonna keep dimmingThe fans responsible for 1M plus PPVs don't even know what is going on between Canelo and Lil g.
