In case you missed it, Canelo's next fight is going to be one of the biggest monetarily of the year whether he fights Lil g in September or not.

Should Canelo win vs Jr., he isn't going to have to worry about the loyalty of fans (Mexican or otherwise) for a very long time.

And plenty of folks will pay to see Cotto in again. It isn't like the first fight was some blowout.

Puerto Rico vs Mexico always sells.

So no, the star won't be dimming anytime soon even without a fight with Lil g this year.

But, Golovkin WILL be growing older...

      lol
tbh which boxer beside canelo that can bring $ as much as him ?
even after G beat canelo, i wonder which boxer ? this is once in a lifetime and he knew it as CHAMPION with 3 legitimate velts
when canelo was champ he can just accept the ****ing mandatory and get away with 75% max
but he vacated and then return with offer worth more than 75%, what a douche....

        Check some very basic facts.

        Golovkin is his own promoter.

        Loeffler is his employee.

K2 are providing Loeffler with promoter's licence, nothing more.

So Golovkin is not 'hoping' for anything. It's his choice and he knows what he's doing.

Chavez is another side show, it's a joke fight. No doubt it'll do well with Mexican fans, but doesn't cross over at all. Like I said, if he's happy being a ethnic attraction, and getting abused by Max post fight for his shameful ducking.

Being an ethnic attraction amongst Mexicans is far superior to being a non-PPV attraction like Golovkin.

In terms of dollars and cents.

Totally concur about the joke fight part, tho there are some signs Jr is actually taking this seriously. Probably won't matter tho.

Joke or not, it is going to do well, and not just with Mexican fans.

This is big man vs little man stuff, with an iconic boxing name mixed in. Both men hugely popular even in spite of the shortcomings.

This is going to be the largest PPV in a while, trust that.

Everyone but GGG haters and Canelo apologist will see past this ploy.

the reason why nobody takes you ****-suckers seriously is because you say the dumbest shht

15mil is an absolute fortune, under any circumstances

Yes but the ceiling is not that high. You can't be the face of boxing as an ethnic attraction, you gotta cross over some. Canelo was all set up for success but that duck rep is dragging him down. Indeed Gggs fan appeal is more organic, agree there.
