I probably would do that too,if ggg upcoming ppv don't do that good I would go down on the offer, and let him know now that is their planThere is no incentive for Canelo or Golden boy to increase there offer. BBB side can say no to it and go fight bums for the next few years for less than a 3rd of what's being offered while Canelo makes just as much if not more than he would pull for this fight for the next decade.
BBB side isn't in a permission to make demands to anyone with options and their position will not get any better after both sides next fights. Hell if BBB sides PPV bombs they may not get that $15 million offer.Comment

Ain't that the d.amn truth Canelo! You offered the man an amount greater than what yourself made with mayweather and won't sell half what "the one" sold. If ggg doesn't accept, f.uck him... NEXT! You the young lion here not him, look at him in that pic he look like your dad, who wears jean looking like shirts anymore?Comment

If you think it does $1m buys, can you explain how $15m is a bad deal?I still think Canelo vs ggg does around 1 mil in buys which is more than Canelo will do with anyone else available to him. Can you recall any fight with this type of demand from the boxing public that can potentially do around 1 mil in ppv where 1 guy didn't get any ppv cut? Ever?Comment

I don't think it's a bad deal, I just think a ppv upside is deserved, even if the guarantee is less than 15 mil, he has a chance to make more. Granting ppv upside is usually a given. Khan got one, Chavez Jr is getting one, why are they so against offering ggg one?Comment

Don't get me wrong, I understand where Loeffler is coming from, if the fight does crazy out if this world numbers, his client gets screwed. And on the flip side, that's money out of Canelos pocket should the fight do astronomical numbers.
But Canelo is a 300k fighter and GGG is a 150k fighter with a no name B side. The likelihood that this fight does Super numbers is small. It's probably a notch below Canelo/Cotto. $15 million flat is a safe bet.Comment

K2 has confirmed that the offer is for at least $10m; whether it goes beyond $15m is open for debate.
Still, what has Golovkin done in his career to even turn his nose up at $10m? It's still triple the money he's ever seen on a single fight in his life, which was already double what he's come to expect from fighting on HBO (beyond that, if he and his camp were sharp, they'd also angle for the German/Kazakh/Russia TV rights to the fight).
Folks trashed the comment when it was made, but Oscar talking about splitting the take on the event 90/10 was likely about as far as he and the camp were allowed to take the percentage.
Is K2 taking the fight for 10% of everything? Because Alvarez isn't going to give up 45% or 40%, or even 25% for that matter, of his entire event to a guy who's PPV high water-mark was maybe 125k PPV buys.
Open up the books and make the case; Alvarez-Smith[$65], Alvarez-Khan[$60], Alvarez-Lara[$50], Alvarez-Angulo[$50] (ignoring the Mayweather and Cotto fights, as the opponent had significant sway on the draw of the event) averaged together versus Golovkin-Lemieux[$50].
Look at the PPV revenue generated by either fighters and split accordingly; between 20/80 and 15/85, on a percentage basis, is likely all that Golovkin merits.Comment

You do realise that if he were to get a split, the $15m goes away, right? He'd be lucky to get a split that'll net him $15m assuming it does indeed do 1m, which is unlikely. Why take that risk?Comment
