I think Arum and Top Rank are just more EXPERIENCED and CONSISTENT at creating new stars! Look what they have already done with Loma and Crawford. I'm sure Ward learned him HIS MISTAKE and I'm positive they did not put that kid in something he can't get out of if he is not happy in a few years as well like what happened with Ward

There’s a murky, violent history between Floyd Mayweather and his former manager, James PrinceJames Prince, manager of Andre Ward, recently hit out at Floyd Mayweather, his former client, for his derisory comments about Ward. This brings to mind the acrimonious, and violent, split between P…

J-Prince been around the boxing game for a minute. A lot of people don't notice his presence though. He's been with Ward from the beginning. (check out the Mayweather v. Corrales post fight scene in the ring when Sr is telling Jr they're going to "get his stuff right". I never thought he was talking about Arum at that time (which was 2001), those comments appeared to be directed elsewhere, and eventually we saw that they were. Mayweather's issues with Arum didn't come about until he started working with Haymon and trying to make the DeLaHoya fight for more money; which was in 06-07ish)Last edited by Butch.McRae; 02-11-2017, 05:09 PM.Comment

Why do you not realize that shakur only signed with prince after, he didnt have prince with him when floyd was courting him. Floyd just never gave him a professional secure offer, so shakur got with prince, ward, and they shopped him around and top rank gave him a professional offer.Comment

Doesn't Arum hate Prince? I remember Arum saying he had to pay prince off otherwise he was going to hurt PBF back in those days. So I doubt Arum would negotiate with Prince in signing this Tupac shakur guy or whatever his name is.Comment

How do you know any of this for sure? J Prince could've been around the whole time while he was in the amateurs and added Ward to secure the kid. We don't know how it transpired, but we do know those parties will never work together. I think we all get why he'd sign with Bob/TR, but the management decision is a real head scratcher for most. Why do you not realize that shakur only signed with prince after, he didnt have prince with him when floyd was courting him. He may be a lot of things, but Bob started in boxing when the mob was still running things. I doubt he's easily deterred from working with boxers. Dude is the last guy standing from a really shady era.Comment

Nah they do business together. Brad Solomon of Top Rank is with Prince. I saw arum on the Dan leBetard show and they ask him about prince and what happened with prince and Floyd and arum said he's always got along with Prince. You can probably find it on YouTubeComment

Cool, Arum is old school and he knows his shit. I would give him that for sure.Comment

Floyd is all talk remember all the tweeting with Mikey Garcia and everyone saying it's a wrap he signing with Mayweather promotions...nope last 2 fights have nothing to do with Floyd. Remember all the talk about Schaefer coming to Mayweather promotions years ago and everyone saying wait till Schaefer no compete is over he will take over as CEO of Mayweather promotions. Nope Schaefer started his own company. And now Floyd all up in the olympics tweeting and following Shakur like a groupie and still couldn't seal the deal. For whatever reason people don't want to hitch their wagon to Mayweather promotions he comes off like a complete amateur. Even AL haymon he is tight as can be with Floyd yet rarely uses them for PBC giving most of his relevant fights to other promoters instead. If he had more faith in Floyd as a promoter he would send more fights his way.
I think this falls on Elerbe who seems way over his head and just a yes man flunkie. Floyd ain't savy enough and needs a better business man to run his company.Comment
