The article says that after Floyd heard the asking price, he backed off. Which tells me that the kid wanted too much too soon and wasn't willing to earn it.

Being in Top Rank is a black hole with no interesting fights on the horizon. Ask Bradley.
yeah lets ask tim bradley about those 3 big paydays against pac and 1 against marquez.lol top rank has done a good job with bradley who has no fanbase yet still got him big fights. he's at the end of his career at this point and is thinking about retirement.

I think Mayweather Promotions made the right decision. I'm not really seeing superstar in him like everyone is. I believe he should have went after Conlan. I'm sure Mayweather Promotions will respond which is what Shakur been wanting. He's been throwing little shots I'm surprised Floyd ain't responded yet.
Post on your real account you moron.

I didn't think about that, you might have a point.

Turning on him? Lmao y'all tripping. This kid has not even won one fight yet lol. Yall didn't even give Floyd respect after none of his fights but we are supposed to bow down and kiss his feet because he signed with Arum?? He'll get respect once he starts winning

J prince is a bad hombre. Surprised he is not in jail yet, he needs to be.

Devin haney never signed with mayweather either, he isnt content with just being a groupie who hang around the gym all day doing nothing but interviews with dontate nation who floyd pays off with a new car and tmt gear like the rest of floyds stable, shakur has ambition and that is good, now all he needs is killer instinct.

J Prince sent a goon squad after Mayweather to the top Rank gym when Mayweather tried to fire him as manager. Mayweather was lucky he wasnt there at the time, Ellerbe got sent to the hospital. Mayweather had to pay him 600K to go away or he would send killers after his family.

Shakur is an idiot for signing with Prince

So automatically I hate Floyd? I am a big fan of Floyd the boxer. Simply pointing out his flawed approach as a promoter and how Stevenson signing with Top Rank makes people like you upset for some weird ass reason.

I'm not talking about matchups. I'm talking about Floyd himself as the guy running a promotion. I think he isn't cutout to think about anyone like a promoter should think about his boxer. I think anyone involved in a competitive individual sport at a high level will have issues with this. And thats why the only one I'm aware of who's had any success at this is Oscar & thats largely if not specifically because he was the face of GBP & took a backseat in the day to day operations to Schaefer who made the company what it is today (& Eric Gomez is getting the train back on the tracks these days & seemingly doing solid with the new ESPN2 deal).

The article says that after Floyd heard the asking price, he backed off. Which tells me that the kid wanted too much too soon and wasn't willing to earn it.
I don't buy that. If anyone is pinching pennies in the boxing business its Top Rank. And if this is true I'd even suspect there could have been a Floyd number & a TR &/or RN number due to the risk Floyd seems to put his boxers in earlier in their careers + more specifically how he was dealing with Tank Davis who Shakur is apparently friends with & likely knows more about the inner workings of Tank's & Floyd's issues.

And I mean for me personally I rarely see all things are equal situations so if I'm in command of my asking price I got a higher price for the less appealing venture or the venture I just don't think I'd fit into as well/have as much success in.

Being in Top Rank is a black hole with no interesting fights on the horizon. Ask Bradley.
For all the problems I have with Arum there is little doubt he knows how to move guys up the ranks & into title position like few others if not no others in the business today. If Shakur is as good as most think he'll for sure win a belt in the next 3-5 years with TR behind him. Meanwhile if he was with Floyd they might throw him in with a spoiler in his 4th fight or something nutty like that. And don't get it twisted as a fan I just wanna see competitive fights & I got no problem with a guy catching a L early. And I enjoy that Floyd throws his guy in deep early. That said from the fighters POV & the POV of selling a product to this marketplace with too many boxing fans who think you're a bum if you got 2 losses I think it ultimately lowers the value of a fighter & for the fighter himself thats all the value he has.
