GGG did little to bring in that many buttskis in England... while Canelo brought the vast majority of buttskis to Jerryworld last week. A fair split would be 10-15 mil for GGG, or 70/30 in Canelo's favor. Anything else is just overpaying for GGG.
You need to know how businessman operate.

    It's a good job you're not part of K2.

Seems like you are implying that a GGG fight will destroy Canelo as a fighter and will prevent him from getting good pay days later on in his career... could happen but I doubt it
      It's not based on anything.

GGG needs to seize this opportunity if he wants a shot at ppv stardom because at age 34, he only has so many prime years left, and a career high 8 figure payday plus upside is nothing to sneeze at.
Canelo was a young kid, fighting the best fighter on the planet, in a position where he had nothing really to lose and everything to gain.

GG isn't fighting the best fighter in the world, and he's effectively in a position where apart from financial gain, he's in a position where he has nothing to gain and everything to lose. By the time the fight comes around, there might be 6/7 belts on the line, almost all of which will belong to GG. So Canelo will be moving up into his domain with a shot at winning every belt in the division.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with K2 turning down a flat fee and wanting an overall percentage.

If Oscar really wants the fight he'll be willing to try and reach a compromise.

A flat fee 12 months out is laughable.

The fights not happening with an 80-20 split, and Canelo will suffer more from it.

Is Golovkin the B-Side? Absolutely. But he has some market value. The live gates at his recent fights prove this.

It isn't totally unreasonable for his promoter to make a counter offer.
No problem with a counter offer but asking for a 60-40 in favor of Canelo ain't happening that's pricing yourself out

I appreciate that it's a big IF for that scenario to play out. But Canelo isn't fighting either one of those guys. He's injured, and Oscar will give him at least one safe fight to test the MW waters before fighting any of the top men.

No one seems to want to take a risk these days expect the boxers, Why can't managers, promoters, networks take a calculated risk? But they all expect boxers to take the short end of the money, prove themselves then that would lead to bigger money fights..
It's a ruthless business. Nobody is going to accept $10m with so much money at stake.
