He's not begging Canelo to fight him.

Yes, his PPV's have been poor. But that is about to change. He's gaining more popularity all of the time. A Jacobs fight will do good numbers, and he can go back to the U.K. and have a big unification with BJS.

You're kidding yourself if you think Canelo doesn't care about the belts.

    He cares.

He was happy to win the lineal title from Cotto.

He was happy to defend it against Khan.

He was a proud Mexican champ.

If he moves up to MW to fight GG, it won't just be for the money. Sure, there's too many Org's and the belts aren't as prestigious as they once were, but fighters still want them. It's a fighters lifelong dream to become a champ. It's what they've worked for their whole life. Don't be fooled. It will be a huge deal for Canelo to fight for every belt in the division.

Hopefully, we'll find out. But GG's popularity is growing with each fight. Fights against Jacobs and BJS will only add to that.

      • Maybe GayLoveKin should just worry about avoiding those uppercuts vs WW's before thinking about another fight. Blocking punches with your face is OK when you're fight Willie monroe with 6 KOs lol. Stupid caveman child rapist lookalike

Granted, the ppv numbers for GGG-Lemieux were dismal. But it wasn't a complete failure considering that fight played to a sellout crowd at MSG.

Is Golovkin the B-Side? Absolutely. But he has some market value. The live gates at his recent fights prove this.

It isn't totally unreasonable for his promoter to make a counter offer.

            • 60/40 isn't happening.

The absolute best they can hope for is 70/30 and Loeffler suggesting there is no 'clear B side' is just more delusion.

GGG is barely the B-side and may be the A-side by now. All Canelo has is the Mexican following but world wide here are the facts. Canelo Alvarez has been marketed brilliantly throughout his career, but Gennady Golovkin is catching up. In fact, SportsPro ranks Golovkin as the 29th most marketable athlete in the world, whereas Canelo doesn’t crack the top-50. Golovkin’s endorsements with Apple Watch and Jordan Brand only reinforce this assessment.

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14, 2016 — *Boxing Superstar and Unified Middleweight World Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin’s, (36-0, 33KO’s), fifth round stoppage of previously undefeated UK Superstar, “The Special One” Kell Brook, (36-1, 25KO’s) was viewed by a combined 1,436,000 viewers on HBO World Championship Boxing this past Saturday, September 10, marking it as the most watched HBO boxing event in 2016 and the highest rated HBO international boxing telecast in many years viewed live by 843,000 fans and same-day rebroadcast by 593,000 viewers.

The thrilling victory by Golovkin was also viewed live on TV Azteca by 1,560,000 viewers in Mexico on Saturday afternoon. Golovkin’s fights are broadcast in over 100 countries which all reported strong viewership numbers for this event.

Golovkin’s 23rd straight knockout and his 17th world title defense took place at The O2 in London, England in front over a capacity crowd of over 19,000 fight fans as he retained his WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO Middleweight World Titles.

Anyway no sane fighter or promoter is going to give up tens of millions of dollars just to appease haters on the internet. GGG will offer fair terms as always and if Canelo stops ducking him, Canelo will agree to fair terms and they will fight each other. This is like when Flom0s said Pacquiao should just take the flat $40 mil. No, just because one fighter is ducking doesn't put the responsibility on the other fighter to just give in to ridiculous demands to appease a ducking fighter.

As boxing fans we need to reorient the way we think a little bit and get back to reality. Start blaming the ducking fighters, not the ones being ducked. If Canelo makes GGG a lowball offer, we can't blame GGG for not taking the lowball offer, we need to blame Canelo for making lowball offers designed to keep the fight from happening.

In short, when one fighter clearly wants the fight, and one fighter clearly does everything possible to avoid the fight, we need to blame the fighter who is doing everything possible to avoid the fight. Until he fights GGG, Team Canelo deserves all the blame, as has already been established when he said he would fight GGG after Cotto, but fought Khan instead, then said he would fight GGG after Khan, but dropped the belt instead. That's already two clear ducks so that's where the blame lies.

GGG to his credit is now chasing after someone potentially more dangerous than Canelo, in Danny Jacobs. Canelo ducks him so he just moves on to an even bigger threat, always willing to face the best guys who will face him. That's to be commended.
Simply Agreed!!!!! I have no clue how fans cannot see how Golden Boy dragging this thing out! O and one more thing, you canelo fans need to STOP saying GGG need to move up and fight the winner of kovelov and ward. NO, GGG and Canelo need to fight first!!!!!!!

You'll quickly find out that he'll start to become a draw.

                      He hasn't done ****?

He could soon own every title in the division.

Oscar is under enormous pressure to repair Canelo's rep.

Why should GG take 20% when his belts are at stake?

Canelo doesn't deserve 80% just because he's more popular at this moment.

Review the situation in a year then make a fair split.
