Im sure there are several punch drunk fighters from all over the area and beyond but its not an actual fact that those guys speak like that cuz of punches.

By the way im also fluent in spanish and full Hispanic.
I don't know...the only other people that sound like that are older drunks. My father in law is 60 and he drinks all the time. He's an electrical engineer. He talks very slowly and slurs.

Out of all Spanish Speaking countries Cubans probably speak the fastest so for them to be speaking slow like that and slurring I don't know man. La Cruz for instance, this video of him speaking is a little flattering as I've seen other interviews with him where it's way worse.

You hear Rigondeaux and Lara speak and they speak with no sign of punch-drunkenness at all. Now keep in mind that Rigo is from Santiago de Cuba from up in the mountains where it doesn't even sound like Spanish. Lara is from Guantanamo where they speak almost as bad as the Santiagueros. Now these two don't show a single sign of punch-drunkenness.

Neither does Toledo who is from Camaguay where La Cruz is from. Neither does Johanys Argilagos who is from the same province. I know people from Camaguay and I know how they speak.

Check this video of De La Cruz and he is only 26. It's pretty bad

Now here I am posting an interview with Johanys Argilagos who is also from Camaguay and actually speaks with an even worse accent where he is eating a lot of the letters from the words but he is not speaking slowly or slurring and this is right after a 5 round fight and he is very tired

Cubans speak very slow spanish compared to puerto Ricans.

I hear you though but i doubt these guys are punched drunk or atleast not until they come to the pros.

There are some Mexicans that speak spanish super slow almost slow poke Rodriguez like and there are some that speak it so fast they don't even finish there words.

An example look at tito Trinidad and Camacho when they were younger, tito always spoke super fast to where Camacho always sounded like he thought about every word that would come out his mouth.
      Some folks are just different.

Yeah Puerto Ricans and Dominicans speak fast as hell but Cubans from the streets speak very fast. I would say Dominicans, Puerto Ricans and Cubans speak the fastest in my opinion, maybe Panama too.

I get what you're saying some people speak slow others fast but when you speak slow like Cruz is speaking it raises eyebrows because at certain points he accelerates which seems to be more like his natural speech pattern but he just can't keep it up. It's just an observation on my part. I think I am right but I can't prove it obviously.

        • Robeisy Ramirez is going to have to be very careful.
He has been in fights recently which he obviously won but didn't get the decision. And one thing I learned from watching Stevenson is that he gets really favored by the judges. In close fights he gets wide decision wins, for example.
Stevenson likes to be first so Ramirez has to be first. He has to be relentless. Stevenson is not as athletic as Ramirez. Stevenson is pretty flatfooted so it's not going to be super difficult to get to him. Ramirez is going to have to push forward. Like I said Stevenson likes to be first and go forward. Ramirez can't let him to that.
Stevenson is not that accurate while Ramirez has shown pretty good accuracy.

I am just worried that Ramirez won't get a fair decision. He is going to have to go for it.
The thing that worries me about Ramirez is that he's not consistent at times, but when he's in the zone he's very good.

La Cruz will be very unpopular in profs. It doesn't matter that he drops his hads if he rans a lot and mostly counterpunches.

I don't think so, he just signed with a South African company.

                    • I think Yoka is going to be beaten to a pulp today.

                      Reckon Joyce will beat Dychko.

Dychko and Yoka are overrated IMO.

Joyce vs Hrgovic would be a class final
