So it's been a sparring session after a sparring session, standing up in b.w rounds. It hasn't been close in any of his fights. Dusmatov and La Cruz similar opposition and the way of shutting down opponents. Ramirez though if he wins the gold, hands down Ramirez should be the Val Baker trophy winner. We're talking about 5 fights against the best opposition winning on the outside, inside and mid range. He's been the cleanest and most accurate puncher of this tournament so far.

Don't get me wrong, La Cruz has been very dominant throughout these Olympics. He didn't even lose a single round. But you probably know that he has beaten Niyazymbetov much more decisively in the past. He for instance completely outclassed Niyazymbetov in his own backyard at the 2013 World Championships.

Today, I thought he dominated round 1, then round 2 and 3 were closer. That's still a good performance against a classy boxer and the clear # 2 in the Light Heavyweight division.

To me the biggest thing about La Cruz is that at this weight nobody can move like him, it's unreal, the only guy that could move like that was Ali. For him to be moving like this at this weight with his hands down and chin up, and make his opponents irrelevant is super impressive. It doesn't matter if it's Buatsi, Joseph Ward, Mina or Nuyazymbetov, it's not even close. And it doesn't matter if they have faced him before and have a better game plan, it's still the same result. Not even middleweights can move like that, the Uzbek fighter at middleweight moves very well but compared to Cruz his footwork ain't half as good and I am pretty sure Lopez will expose the Uzbek's mistakes in the final.

How can that not be entertaining?

His biggest problem would be nationality
The problem with La Cruz is the same problem with Rigo, when he let his hands go, his opponents are afraid of getting countered, so they don't throw because they are afraid and the fight starts to get boring.

The uzbek in 75 is a huge puncher also, he is knocking out folks since the youth tournaments.
The final of 56 is the best final in the games along with the final of 75, the only two fights when my top ranked fighters are fighting for the gold medal.
I believe Shakur could stay amateur next year if he wins the final, he would become one of the few fighters to have won every world tournament of the aiba.

Anyone who supports Castro is disliked. Any Cuban who hates Castro is liked in America

La Cruz, Robeisy and Veitia - these guys barely get hit and they are already punch drunk at a young age. I could be wrong though cause I've been around a lot of boxers and kids that box too and the majority is so dumb and slow. So it could be that they are very dumb or they are punch drunk as they are very slow when they speak especially Veitia and La Cruz. So many fights and gym wars, even though at the big stage they are barely getting hit, they've been hit enough, trust me.
