Prince Naseem made a similar style work. I'd be interested to see him as a pro.

Yeah people found rigo boring because he doesnt take risks, La Cruz' whole style is a risk. Hands down at the waist and chin way up in the air avoiding shots and countering on the inside?

How can that not be entertaining?

His biggest problem would be nationality

          Four high level bouts today.

Ramirez-Akhmadaliev was the most exciting fight of the day. A lot of punches thrown and landed.

Lopez won comfortably in a slow-paced fight.

Melikuziev made it look easy. The guy moves like a flyweight.

La Cruz vs. Niyazymbetov was a chess match as expected, and La Cruz is very hard to beat at this game. I thought the last two rounds were close. La Cruz wasn't dominant but Niyazymbetov is class.

If Robeisy wins against Shakur, it should be a lock for Robeisy with 5 fights in this tournament. I don't think there will be another gold medalist who's had 5 fights and faced the best opposition and beaten it in such class. Shakur is good though. So let's see

Arlen Lopez has also had a good run and if he beats Melikuziev the way he beat him in the Worlds you don't know. Melikuziev has to do better than what he did today though because if he makes the same mistakes like he did today Lopez gonna beat him up like he did at the Worlds. Great final though

Yep, we know Cubans are not liked in the U.S.

La Cruz technically and literally fights like Ali. They competed as amateurs at the same division as well. If you look closely there are a lot of similarities. Ali had a much better right hand though.

La Cruz was very dominant. He outlanded Niyazymbetov 5 to 1. If that's not dominance then I don't know what is. Remember Niyazbetov is not a bum off the street he shut out Buatsi in his previous fight. La Cruz also made an easy work out of the Frenchman who stopped Mina. So it's been a sparring session after a sparring session, standing up in b.w rounds. It hasn't been close in any of his fights. Dusmatov and La Cruz similar opposition and the way of shutting down opponents. Ramirez though if he wins the gold, hands down Ramirez should be the Val Baker trophy winner. We're talking about 5 fights against the best opposition winning on the outside, inside and mid range. He's been the cleanest and most accurate puncher of this tournament so far.

Yeah Cruz showed out this tournament. I'm happy for him because he disappointed in 2012. He's too good of a fighter not to have an Olympic gold medal in his trophy case.

Great comparison was a HUGE Prince Naseem fan as well but he got hate from Ironically Jim Lampley for his style even back then and they was extremely happy when Barrera beat him

Me personally would love to see him as a Pro!
