    Crawford $1.3M, Postol $675k

The headliners alone were paid more then the profits generated. And that's not including the undercard which were paid 350k. If these PPV figures are true Arum lost money because the money he paid the fighters is more then the profits. And I'm sure there are other fees outside of just the half Cable takes like the venu so that 1.8m might even be closer to just 1m.

I think Arum said it needs to do 100k buys to pull a profit.
I still find it hard to believe that HBO wouldn't pay $2 million for this fight considering the amount they pay for those garbage shows that GGG appears in.

How many times did you brag about GGG's 97k number? it's only getting worse for you.
This was a budget ppv with no promotion.

This isn't surprising at all. Neither is really a "household name" meaning casuals have no clue who they are and casuals is where the money is at. Hell enthusiasts werent even buying this fight. Obviously they are testing the waters with the heir apparent to Pacquiao and potentially lining them up for a future bout. Now THAT, plenty of people would pay to see.

Thos PPv needed to be like the stacked don King cards of the 90s..
          Crawford-postal
          Loma-Walters
          Donaire vs quigg
          Verdejo vs Corrola
nah it would be too expensive. Loma Walters would be over 1.5 mil in purses as would Donaire and quigg. That alone is over 3 million plus the 2 million for crawford postol. You would be almost tripling the total purses but wouldn't triple the number of ppv buys

$60 a pop times 62,000 =3,720,000 so 50% of that to Top Rank is $1,860,000 which almost covers the the main event but not the undergard. They probably lost a few hundred grand on the card

There are rumours that Canelo/Khan did 600k but the only people who believe that are GBP. Chavez Jr best numbers were what, 470k? When May and Pac did 400-500k numbers they were regarded as let downs. So let's be real here.

Serious PPV numbers, 500-1+ million buys belong to a handful of fighters and even if you want to add in Cotto and Canelo, thats still only 8 fighters in the entire history of the sport and PPV itself.

So, we come back to what typical PPV numbers are and that's what TC v Postol did.
canelo cotto did close to 900k!

The Crawford fight was good on paper, but the actual fight was boring. A ton of people on social media really complained about the action, there were barely any punches thrown by both fighters. Crawford only danced, circled the ring, didn't take risks. His punchout was by far the lowest of all his fights. He should have pulled the trigger, give the fans excitement.

There's a reason it only did so few PPV and they only had a reported attendance of 7000 people which is really bad as well.

Have you ever attended a GGG Fight? It has a unique atmosphere, everybody is pumped and excited, when the Seven Nations Army plays the whole arena is on fire, every last seat is taken and during the fight everyone is entertained and involved.

Nobody leaves a GGG fight bored, unhappy ore not entertained.

He sold out the biggest venues all around the USA and is the only active fighter that can do it.

The so called next American Star can't even sell more PPVs in his homecountry than the guy from Kazakhstan.

You keep talking about Garbage fights when the majority of fans loves every GGG fight they attended/watched and a ton of people were disappointed and complaining about Crawford.

Like I said, even if we're going to include Canelo and Cotto, that brings the tally up to about 8 names. In the entire history of the sport and 30+ years of PPV presentation, only 8 boxers, possibly put that number up to 10 if we include Leonard and maybe Hagler/Hearns/Duran have had eye popping PPV buys.

The vast majority of PPVs are what you're seeing now.
