Brook has fought 4 times straight on Showtime. He's a champion in the WW division, gets talked about on ESPN (before the GGG fight) and now has announced this year's biggest event.

There wasn't really a lot of opponents to choose from. Canelo/BJS rejected him. Jacobs has a fight in August/September already. CE Jr rejected him. Cotto is moving back down to 154. He already beat Lemieux. Quillen/Lee/N'Dam aren't looking too hot either (coming off losses/fighting in the Olympics). So basically the top MWs weren't really available at all for a September fight.

If he couldn't get a unification fight like he wanted and couldn't get a top 10 MW, then there's no reason to reject a big money fight with Brook. You're really just nitpicking here. The guy will fight 3 times this year and he was offered a (near) career payday and you want him to reject that?
