In my view, if you expect Alvarez to vacate, you don't allow the Khan fight. You take your belt (or the fight) and move on to bigger and better things. I won't say this is proof that K2 and Trip ducked Ward because that's a tough call to gamble on Alvarez vacating and agree to a deal with RocNation. You can't plan two fights at once. The 36 rapid reply still brings their motive into question though.
