I did. During Canelo Cotto build up I specifically said numerous times Canelo needs to win because he's man enough to fight him. Now I figured sure, there will likely be a delay and it won't be immediately after Cotto, but they reached an agreement for an extension with the promise Canelo would fight him after. I believed it because never in my wildest I imagination did I suspect Canelo would literally hand his belt over to Golovkin while getting destroyed on social media, I figured he's a prideful Mexican, it just isn't in the boxing culture in Mexico to be viewed as a ducker/coward, and yet here we are.

More importantly, K2 believed in Canelo/Golden Boy as well.

Why do people expext GGG to move up to 168 and fight Ward, but dont expect Ward to move up and fight Kovalev. He just taking a bunch of tune ups first at 175. GGG should take a bunch of tune up fights at 168 before he fight the best at 168.

In my view, if you expect Alvarez to vacate, you don't allow the Khan fight. You take your belt (or the fight) and move on to bigger and better things. I won't say this is proof that K2 and Trip ducked Ward because that's a tough call to gamble on Alvarez vacating and agree to a deal with RocNation. You can't plan two fights at once. The 36 rapid reply still brings their motive into question though.
