Can GGG ever surpass Floyd Mayweather on an ATG list?

he was avoided by the big names(Tyszu, Mosley, DLH) until he brought more azzes in seats and brought more $$$ for his opponents
from 1996-2005 mayweather was all risk and 0 reward
he wanted to fight Hamed, Casamayor, Freitas, etc. in the late 90s and early 2000s
instead of stay @ 130 and 135, he took a risk and fought guys as high as 154.
if he didnt take control of his career and leave Bob Arum, we wouldnt be having this conversation about Mayweather.
Top rank held him back....its no coincidence that as soon as he left top rank he got the fight he wanted with ODLH
and later got the fights he wanted and fans wanted with Hatton, Mosley and Cotto

floyd mayweather completely outgrew 130-140. hell, the guy couldn't make 144 against marquez when he had a well documented IRS lean against him, and when the $600,000 it cost was a big, big f#ckign deal to a guy in a ton of debt.
golovkin's not supposed to get credit for what he did at amateur and at lower weights, but the fact that he's 34 and fully grown makes the comparison to floyd's weight climbing unfair.
in reality, floyd fought former 147 lbrs at 154. yes, it's another division, and a feather in his cap, but that doesnt' mean that it's the same thing as fighting two pound for pounders two full weight classes above you.
floyd's never fought an opponent on the level of either guy, regardless of size. those are prime, pound for pounders.

if you think floyd mayweather could have been a 130 or a 135 lber at the end of his career you are more nuts than i thought you are. he was a very natural, decent sized welterweight with good reach.
dude missed weight against marquez when he was in monstrous IRS debt. htat fight was six years ago. and his IV against pacquiao implies serious dehydration, as the generally accepted remedy for even moderate dehydration is simply to drink fluids.

he was chasing money and cementing his legacy
I always wanted him to stay at 140 for a while but all the big fights were at 147-154
He was 138 on fight night for his lightweight fights and his early ww fights he barely would gain a pound
definitely could have cleaned out 140 but TSZYU was gone, Hatton was the only big name left so I see why.
of course fighters grow but he was at his best @ 140...he only fought there a few times.....he still had speed, had power, had all the experience of a decade as a pro.

im talking about pretty boy floyd, not money
Mayweather was making weight easy at 147 and only had 3 fights at 140 in the mid 2000s....hell he fought dlh with only a handful of fights over 135
A 30 year old coming off a 2 yera lay off is gonna have a harder time making weight than an active guy in their mid 20s...common sense

pacquiao had been in decline for years. literally years.
he was knocked out completely unconscious in 2012.
and he's smaller than floyd
kovalev and ward are two weight classes higher than golovkin's weight in his f#cking mid 30's.
prime doe, amiright?
so yes, they'd be signnifican'ty better wins than anything floyd has on his resume, mainly because of the size and the fact that they're in their primes. arguing otherwise makes you a fanboy. let's see what you've got to refute that, or will you just ask a one line question?Last edited by New England; 07-06-2016, 04:10 PM.
