Well you were suppose to defend against Golovkin before the CANELO fight and it was golovkin who agreed for you to make a bug money defence with canelo and make $22 million ...so I don't think paying someone 800k is that much to ask seeing as he could have said no it's mandatory time......cotto needs to step the f@ck away from Boxing now....his time is done and the breed are coming ...set errol spence on his arse and put the diva out of his misery now...times up

when cotto dropped the belt canela's fans ridiculed him. when alvared did the same his fans agreed to it. pathetic. Well in my opinion cotto did it for the right reason and alvared for the cowardly.

Technically, Cotto is correct. For a very long time, the ABC groups' policy dictated that beltholders from other groups were not recognized in the rankings. Where Cotto loses me is how he claims the situation with the WBC and GGG as adding to boxing's corruption. To me, its the total opposite. In my time as a boxing fan, the term "mandatory" has often been associated with guy that even hardcore fight fans have never heard of. And a guy that no credible boxing outfit could legitimately deem the #1 challenger to the supposed best fighter in the world. And often times fighters were praised for dumping belts, as opposed to fighting a meaningless mandatory. In this instance, the WBC is doing the right thing. They've ranked the guy that is clearly the best fighter in the division not holding their title, and made him the mandatory challenger. Regardless that he holds belts in other organizations. That's a step in the right direction. And for Cotto to criticize that is ridiculous.

Many years ago, belts became pretty much irrelevant in my own lil boxing universe. Everything with me is eye test and resume. Cotto and Canelo's stances with the WBC middleweight belt never bothered me because for one, I don't care about the belt. Secondly, both guys' resumes make me view them as jr middleweights. So it ia what it is.

The WBC took a good step with this move. The WBA is also talking about reducing some of the ridicuous amounts of beltholdera they have out there. Those are small steps. But for someone like me that's seen multiple decades of corruption from these groups, along with the IBF and more recently the WBO. Its gonna take more than a couple credible moves for me to take them seriously again.

Canelo didn't even try to negotiate to fight GGG. He vacated after 4days post beating up a Super Lightweight...

Two totally different scenarios , Cotto got stripped before the fight.

CANELO paid his sanctioning fees , won the belt fair & square inside the ring at 155 pounds , he beat the ring lineal champion at that weight and played the roll of the B-Side giving up money , ring size etc. On CANELO'S first day back on HBO he said he wanted Cotto, GGG and Pacquiao all at 155.

He won and asked for Golovkin to play his roll as the B-Side, Golovkin was in a sweet spot as the mandatory because if the negotiations went to a purse bid , CANELO would have to give up 5 pounds and 45% of the purse , two things Golovkin did not deserve , two things CANELO should not have to give up when you compare both fighters careers , so CANELO vacated , and now CANELO will make the fight on his terms like it should be , in boxing you have to earn things.

It was a brilliant power move , that's why all the Golovkin fans are throwing temper tantrums because they know now the fight will be on CANELOS terms.

This is the truth , racist haters got their nose so far up lil g's a$$ they can't smell what's cooking, most of them are new to the sport , some will deny that Golovkin is not ducking even when Golovkin himself on video says he doesn't want a particular fight. Most the hate CANELO gets is because they hate Mexicans , especially the ones at the top of the sport. It's ok if you root against the Mexicans but at least order the PPV , if you don't or you stream , then your not a boxing fan , your just a pathetic racist loser.

Some people don't even know that GoldenBoy Promotions put ggg on PPV , they know the exact numbers of the event , it was their worst PPV in the companies history , they know what their doing they know what ggg is worth what he can draw and what he does or doesn't deserve , ggg tried to play hardball , that's why their marinating the fight till ggg gets of his high horse and stops living in fantasy land and starts living in the real world and agrees to the terms.
