2009: Margo gets KTFO by Mosley and gets exposed for cheating

2010: Floyd Mayweather beats Mosely 11-1.

    • Ray Leonard is a tough style match up for Floyd.

Bigger, longer, faster, combinations, boxing skills, strong jab.

Floyd would have his moments and win rounds with his defense and skills but I think Leonard takes a hard fought decision.

        AND? Styles make fights.

Mosley had the power to keep Margo at bay, Floyd MAYBE didn't.

Not denying Floyd is a better fighter than Margo.

Doesn't change the fact that Margo was overhall the best contender from 2006 to 2009 at 147 and a tough match up and Floyd wanted no part of it.

Hatton, Judah and Baldomir were soft touch compared to this guy.

Very True. Floyd has always gotten the benefit of judges for Ring general ship. However against Ray you can't throw 25 to 30 punches a round and have 3 to 4 clinches each round and win sorry. You may land at a higher percentage , but you didin't make the fight. Floyd just wasn't active enough against the big 4 if he were to have fought them.

          • Floyd hasn't beaten ONE single ATG in or near his prime, at his prime weight! Pac, JMM, Oscar all these men were mid 30's & many divisions above there best weight.. Look who SRL beat:

-Hagler 33 WBC, WBA, IBF & The Ring Middleweight champion. Near his prime & at his prime weight.

-Hearns 23 undefeated WBA welterweight champ. Prime.

-72-1 Duran. WBC & Ring champ aged 29. Prime but probably a weight above his best but still a p4p legend.

-Undefeated HOF'er Wilfred Benítez. 21 years old WBC World Welterweight champ. Prime.

FLOYD HAS YET TO FACE A LEGITIMATE HALL OF FAME FIGHTER WHO WAS IN THEIR PRIME!!!! think about that. His best win is Corales, a guy who isn't even a legit hall of famer. not only has floyd not faced a single HOF fighter who was prime, he also avoids slick fighters. something a lot of his fans accuse MP of not doing. Who was the slickest fighter floyd fought? reggie sanders? zab judah? emmanuel augustus? looooooool this is what Floyd does. It is clear to see that following Floyd’s clash with the ‘Golden Boy’ 2007 the ethnicity of Floyd’s opposition (with the exception of Ricky Hatton) has had a distinctly latin flavour. Juan Manuel Marquez, Victor Ortiz, Miguel Cotto, Robert Guerrero, Saul Alvarez and Marcos Maidana are prime examples of this.

He has no prime Trinidad, Whitaker, Hearns or Mosley on his resume! The point of all this? Floyd barely fought any of the slick black athletic fighters of his time or at least waited til they had aged! Mosley, Forrest, Williams, Bradley, Lara.. In fact nearly every slick fighter non black too! Martinez, Barrera, Pac, Oscar, Tszyu..

Look at Mosley! Never ducked anyone.. Forrest, Wright, Vargas, Pac, Canelo, Margarito.. Beat prime Oscar & went into a fight with the tall athletic 6'1" Forrest a year later! Look at Oscar.. Fought Trinidad, JCC, Mosley, Whitaker, Quartey, Camacho, Pac, Hopkins! Floyd doesn't have this type of mentality.. If he had he would have fought Pac in 2010/11 (pre religion, politics & JMM IV) & he'd be fighting the likes of Golovkin today! Instead he fougt Canelo & Pac in 2015..

Nearly all these great black slick US Fighters have beaten great names in there prime who posed legitimate style threats to them! Floyd hasn't!

Look Margarito was bigger and better than Maidana and Castillo. I think he could have outhustled Mayweather, but Mayweather gets alot of benefits from the Judges for Being defensive. However 99 percent of other fighters get outhustled go figure.

Gamesworn , that is a bad a** picture on your post! Yeah i guess you are right. The only reason Leonard challenged Hagler was he looked slow against Mugabi. Man what an era at 147 to 160 then. Hagler, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Mugabi, A young Julian Jackson, Donald Curry, Pryor could have been at 147, McCallum.
