In general this question has a really simple answer.

Could Floyd beat any really good middleweight at 160 (never mind Hagler)?

Nope and he never even tried.

He's too small. His best weight is 130/135. There's absolutely nothing in Floyd's resume to say that even on his best day he could cope with SRL at 147lbs.

As others have said, the good argument is Floyd versus Duran.

    • I'll say it again.. If Floyd had the type of mentality that Mosley, Oscar, SRL etc had he would have fought Pac in 2010/11 (pre politics, religion & JMM IV.. Essentially before he got soft) & he'd be fighting the likes of Golovkin today! I suspect if SRL was operating today he'd have to be on the wrong side of 35 to get Floyd or he just flat out would be avoided..

-Hagler 33 WBC, WBA, IBF & The Ring Middleweight champion. Near his prime & at his prime weight.

-Hearns 23 undefeated WBA welterweight champ. Prime.

-72-1 Duran. WBC & Ring champ aged 29. Prime but probably a weight above his best but still a p4p legend.

-Undefeated HOF'er Wilfred Benítez. 21 years old WBC World Welterweight champ. Prime.

FLOYD HAS YET TO FACE A LEGITIMATE HALL OF FAME FIGHTER WHO WAS IN THEIR PRIME!!!! think about that. His best win is Corales, a guy who isn't even a legit hall of famer. not only has floyd not faced a single HOF fighter who was prime, he also avoids slick fighters. something a lot of his fans accuse MP of not doing. Who was the slickest fighter floyd fought? reggie sanders? zab judah? emmanuel augustus? looooooool this is what Floyd does. It is clear to see that following Floyd’s clash with the ‘Golden Boy’ 2007 the ethnicity of Floyd’s opposition (with the exception of Ricky Hatton) has had a distinctly latin flavour. Juan Manuel Marquez, Victor Ortiz, Miguel Cotto, Robert Guerrero, Saul Alvarez and Marcos Maidana are prime examples of this.

He has no prime Trinidad, Whitaker, Hearns or Mosley on his resume! The point of all this? Floyd barely fought any of the slick black athletic fighters of his time or at least waited til they had aged! Mosley, Forrest, Williams, Bradley, Lara.. In fact nearly every slick fighter non black too! Martinez, Barrera, Pac, Oscar, Tszyu..

Look at Mosley! Never ducked anyone.. Forrest, Wright, Vargas, Pac, Canelo, Margarito.. Beat prime Oscar & went into a fight with the tall athletic 6'1" Forrest a year later! Look at Oscar.. Fought Trinidad, JCC, Mosley, Whitaker, Quartey, Camacho, Pac, Hopkins! Floyd doesn't have this type of mentality.. If he had he would have fought Pac in 2010/11 (pre religion, politics & JMM IV) & he'd be fighting the likes of Golovkin today! Instead he fougt Canelo & Pac in 2015..

Nearly all these great black slick US Fighters have beaten great names in there prime who posed legitimate style threats to them! Floyd hasn't!
        Spot on bud. Spot on.

9/10 if they fought no one is getting ko'ed and they'd miss more often than normal i just believe mayweather is the more accurate puncher of the two

hearns was boxing leonard anyway, he didnt plant his feet and go for the ko as his gameplan...he boxed leonard and leonard was lost until the later rounds
Wrong the first 6 rounds hearns was the stalker and the hunter so Leonard had to tread very carefully and try and draw Tommy in and he did that in the 6th round and then it changed the style of the fight where Leonard became the hunter and hearns became hunted....but hearns was still cracking those right hands in with savage power and Leonard absorbed them....I don't think you have any reality in your brain of just how good the Leonard's , hearns and Durans were compared to the fighters Floyd faced at welterweight ...it would be physically impossible for Floyd to have any kind of success even with Thomas hearns....he was huge at welterweight and had a reach of most heavyweights at 78inches he would have towered over him and those at right hand would have knocked mayweather into tomorrow , we see Floyd almost get dropped by an old Mosley, dropped by Judah, staggered and busted up by maidana and your trying to say Floyd mayweather could beat probably the 2 best welterweights of the last 60 years....Leonard and hearns would walk right through Floyd mayweather ...I shudder to think what Leonard or hearns would do to any challenger Floyd faced at welterweight and that includes pacquaio ...change your name to The Clueless Pugilist son

Closest thing to a prime SRL on Floyds resume? It's actually Judah or DeMarcus Corley.. & they are light years away! Lmao..

            Hearns
            Hagler
            Duran
            Benitez

            OR:

            Washed up Pac
            Washed up Oscar
            Washed up Mosley
            Washed up JMM

Leonard made Mayweather Sr. his biyatch too! Watch round 8 LOL

Plunger you are right on point...Pug I normally agree with alot of your opinions but not on this one sorry dude. Think about it, if Leonard & Hearns fought in this era...come fight night they would weigh much more. So yeah they were just bigger Welters.

Leonard tried to box Hearns but couldnt get past his jab, when he realized he could hurt him, he turned up the heat

just because someone disagrees with you doesnt mean you know any more or less so leave that childish name calling crap to the elementary school students.

size is size...skills are skills....two differnt things.....Mayweather has a better chin and defense than Hearns ever had. Also he was a better counterpuncher than Leonard and threw shorter shots. Leonard threw arm punches when he tried to flurry and ****ed back and looped shots when he sat down on them. Floyd would see that coming regardless of speed...its about accuracy.

The fight is 60/40 in leonard's favor but Mayweather had the skill, adaptabilty, chin, and intangibles to beat Leonard as well

Nah ur wrong fella...at welter Leonards combinations were quick and powerful...he was also a brilliant body puncher and that's basically what broke hearns down ..he also was relentless when he hurt you and could drop with you his left or right ....u haven't watched enough of Leonard to see when he actually sat down on his combinations he was Ko artist .there are many videos on YouTube when he finishes an opponent either going back or forwards ....Ayub kalule had never been of his feet in his life and 35-0 and was granite chinned so for you to say he only threw arm punches in his flurries is one one the moat idiotic things I have ever heard...they were a lot more than that and him knocking out full fledged welterweights and jnr middleweight in there prime and they were not actually looking away.....Leonard could fight Floyd from a distance or he could chase him down and finish him up close....Leonard had superior reach, height and power and the reason why Leonard did take a few more punches than Floyd is because he was also an offensive fighter that would take a shot so he could get close and take you out of there....if Leonard wanted to fight like mayweather and be 100% defensive he could have boxed the way he did with Duran in the 2nd fight in all his fights when Duran never laid a glove on him but then we would have been robbed of some of the greatest fights in history in hearns vs Leonard 1 and Duran vs Leonard 1... Now you see where I'm getting at...Floyd fights one way only and he has picked his opponents which were suited to his style .ie Latin fairly slow footed fighters....maidana,Ortiz,Guerrero,cotto and even de la Hoya and Mosley are slow as molasses compared to a prime Leonard ....at welterweight Leonard beat defensive genius in Benitez and his nickname was El Radar.,he beat boxer punchers and true killer in hearns ! He made one of the most fearsome fighters in history quit in duran ...Hearn's was over 6ft 1 with a reach of 78inches and had a record 32-0 and 30 KO's Benitez was 36-0 and 1 draw and Duran was 76-1 loss and kalule was 34-0 which make there combined record of 178 wins 1 loss and 1 draw that's ridiculous stats and Leonard stopped all of them....Floyd is 100% defensive against slower fighters.
Leonard was ruthless and wanted do damage when he was in the ring.Floyd would be overwhelmed by Leonard by the 10th round...to much speed, power and Devil

of course they were bigger....hearns wouldl knock floyd the hell out....Leonard would be favored 60/40 imo but i wouldnt be surprised if floyd pulled one out in a 3 fight series.
