I'm still wondering how is GGG-Jacobs going to be made with the HBO Showtime feud?

It probably doesn't for business reasons is the thing everyone is ignoring.

HBO would surely want this on HBO. PBC would surely want this on NBC, Fox or Showtime. And rightfully so on both accounts. HBO has budget issues & veto power with GGG fighting off of HBO so I feel like there is a great chance PBC wins the purse bid & HBO saying nah. Hopefully I'm wrong, but right now, from what I know, I think thats the most likely outcome if both sides will even legit accept a purse bid situation.

pbc has no money. this is why haymon is exporting all his fighters and letting them fight on other cards. at best he's using showtimes money to pay their salaries. he migth try to save jacobs if he feels jacobs is a true star in the making but i dont think he thinks that. its sacrifice time.

At the end of the day K2 just have toopay Jacobs 30% of their bid. They don't have to pay Golovkin the 70% if they have a different contract or arrangement or whatever. They can easily bid 10 million and no way Haymon will waste crazy money to just get Jacobs knocked out on Showtime instead of HBO.

I honestly do not even want to see Jacobs-Golovkin, ever. I suppose only if by some chance in hell the Canelo fight does not happen for GGG, Jacobs would be the best option by default since he has a title. But Golovkin would absolutely flatiron Jacobs, I think Jacobs goes in survival mode the moment Golovkin lands a big shot.

Just a pointless fight, IMO, and after (may the gods bless us) GGG-Canelo, personally I would like GGG to move up to 168, (as opposed to staying at 160 and fighting Jacobs, which would be the only fighter left to fight at 160... anything else would be inexcusable). Go up to 168 after Canelo and go for Ramirez, and try to get a title at 168.

I say all of this while completely looking past Canelo and that is because there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he hasn't have the slightest chance to win against Golovkin. It is a complete one-sided fight and it is similar to if GGG would have fought Cotto and Martinez when they had the lineal titles- GGG is in a class of his own at 160, the fight is simply about the belt and Canelo gets outdone in every aspect on fight night.

(and I mean this with no disrespect to Canelo. He will get nothing but respect from anyone if this fight happens.)

I would like to see Stevens-Lemieux and then the winner of that fight Jacobs. That would be great matchmaking and a great voluntary defense for Jacobs. Plus, if he ever WERE to fight Golovkin after all the GGG/Canelo business, there probably isn't a 160lber that could be a better "tune up" fight for Jacobs to fight before Golovkin, that'll prepare him for 3G.

These fans praying that Jacobs gets some nobody to fight as soon as possible so he can duck the GGG fight.

I thought you wanted Jacobs vs GGG so desperately?

If Jacobs fights end of July/early august, he will fight when again? in a year? So GGG should fight Saunders, Jacobs, Canelo, move up in weight, fight everyone, but these fools are ducking him right and left.

Then in a couple weeks when both Canelo and Jacobs duck the fight, Saunders will prolly fight Eubanks or some bum, people will say. Oh GGG fights another nobody. So laughable.

The only reason I can think of that one would be this paranoid is to establish a basis to excuse a potential bum fight.

Jacobs fighting in June/July should have no affect on an October/November fight date. PBC fighters are generally inactive because they can only fight as TV dates become available.
To be fair, Jacobs himself has said before he wasn't ready to fight Golovkin. He's a realistic man, he knows whats up... That GGG is "that dude," right now and very dangerous. So, while I do not think that Jacobs is plotting anything like how those posters were saying, I also do not think he is in any rush to face Golovkin.

danny jacobs is a professional boxer who wants to fight, not a ggg lottery participant.

Jacobs is the physically bigger man, the quicker man, has shown an ability to box coming/going, has an awkward switchy style, and can crack with one-punch power in both hands; you add that Golovkin likes to let punches bounce off of his face and I don't see where your "no chance" ethos from.

And its not like we haven't heard about Jacobs vs Lee or a Jacobs fight happening soon before so its not like this is suddenly coming out of nowhere to avoid GGG or whatever some of the more knuckleheaded posters are gonna say. This was something coming down the pike a couple months back, maybe maybe not even before the WBA confirmed they would push for GGG vs Jacobs if Canelo momos out.

Lastly if Jacobs did sit & wait & things moved into place perfectly as people are suggesting is possible then I still see this fight happening in August at the earliest & more likely September & I just don't think fighting GGG with any rust on you is an ideal situation. I now it happens that guys are coming off 8-9mo layoffs and have semi-big to big fights, but this would very possibly be Jacobs biggest fight of his career & its gonna define Jacobs for many fans as a Khan-like gif or as a guy who beat this destroyer of boxers. This just isn't a regular fight like Andy Lee or whoever would be.

And my assumption would be if Jacobs has a fight scheduled (which it sounds like he more or less has had for longer than a day ago when this thread popped up) & the WBA is talking about making GGG vs Jacobs they aren't gonna force Jacobs to cancel his fight or lose his position, they would just push things forward to the earliest future date which would likely be Oct.-Dec.
I'm of the impression that Alvarez-Golovkin doesn't get made, and there's no impetus from any of the parties to drag things out any longer (Alvarez's camp wants the fight at 155, Golovkin's camp wants the fight at 160, so there's that hang-up; and that's even before getting into issues about the money split, where Golovkin doesn't seem to bring the economic value to merit a 30/70 split); with the WBC throwing down the gauntlet that they have, I don't see them being open to slow-walking the talks either. That late May date is, to me, a drop-dead point in this round of talks. End of May through the end of July is a lot of time to work with.

With Jacobs seemingly already in camp, the rest of things will simply come down to DiBella(representing Jacobs) and Loeffler(representing Golovkin) working with the WBA to settle the mandatory defense situation, if Alvarez-Golovkin doesn't happen.

If the the deal gets done, Jacobs has a stage and TV date already locked in to negotiate from. If it gets slow-walked by K2, Golovkin likely gets put on the shelf for a bit (Jacobs is of no demand to give up his position, and Golovkin likely doesn't get to fight unless the WBA lets him defend the WBC and IBF belts), Jacobs gets his summer fight, and Golovkin has to fight him in the Fall.
