As to the second point, there is no "network dispute". GGG is the super champion, and the bigger draw, so the logical course of action is for them to present an offer to Jacobs (Haymon). If those negotiations go nowhere, then of course a purse bid would be ordered, and all that, but Im cautiously optimistic that a deal could be made that would have the fight on HBO (or HBO PPV)........
There will be a network issue just like with Stevenson/Kovalev. There shouldn't be but there will be. You and I both know this. Jacobs is a bigger asset to PBC/Showtime than Dominic Wade.

Golovkin/Lemieux was announced in July and scheduled for October. And that was a much easier fight to make. Assuming the WBA announces in June, they negotiate into July, it just can't happen in August/September.

Because, apparently to the larks on this site, of some loyalty to HBO, lol.

With Frampton-Santa Cruz and Golovkin-Jacobs, from Brooklyn, as their doubleheader, Showtime has a PPV quality show in hand for the end of July.

In the battle of dueling wallets, Showtime Steve beats Peter Nelson handedly, so K2 is left with a decision to make.

Take Golovkin over to Showtime for a SHOPPV (and risk one of HBO's TV attractions that they've invested in getting beat elsewhere), or stick with HBO and lose the belt (hoping the HBO spin machine can salvage the duck with some skillful misdirection; ie Kovalev's duck prompting the Kovalev-Ward fight)

Sweet.. No opponent yet. GGG made quick work of the number 1 contender in Wade. Fighting in late July should be a breeze for him. If the Canelo fight doesn't happen of course

if either GGGs team or Jacobs team stalls the process, and really doesnt want the fight, then yes you are 100% correct that it couldnt get done in time. But if both sides want it, I cant believe it would be a harder fight to set up / promote than Canelo-GGG, which would be on Sept 17 (if it happens).

well, I dont agree with the "duck" analogy, because if a guy has an exclusive contract, the last thing he wants to do is spend the next 36 months in court after HBO gets a judge to issue an injunction barring the fight from taking place.

I would hope that if a fight like GGG-Jacobs went to bid, and K2 lost the bid, that Peter Nelson would understand the damage that losing the belt would do to GGG, and would step aside and allow the fight to proceed.

Probably wishful thinking, but hey we can hope.......

I think Jacobs is a bad man to overcome cancer and still keep on fighting.

How many of you b1tch azz Phaggots have had to overcome anything.

Punk azz posters! I would rip off your ****ing faces and shove then up your skin tight pants wearing azzez!

Meh. I know he doesn't have to wait and doesn't need Golovkin fight, but if he truly wanted it he would have asked his team to wait 10 days.

I don't think he, or most likely his manager, wants this fight next. They're not doing anything to get it.

Thats some damn wishful thinking on your part. :ROFLMAO:
Theres a bigger chance of Charles Martin unifying the heavyweight division.

Al Haymon is such a ****ty manager. Jacobs had a career defining victory and now all the momentum is pretty much gone. This dude is now scheduled for an undercard probably against some average Joe. I'm feeling sad for Jacobs.

Like others are saying I just don't have a lot of faith in this Canelo vs GGG thing being solved in a week & a half or whatever after GGG has been avoided by WBC title holders since Sergio Martinez had that belt. And its not like we haven't heard about Jacobs vs Lee or a Jacobs fight happening soon before so its not like this is suddenly coming out of nowhere to avoid GGG or whatever some of the more knuckleheaded posters are gonna say. This was something coming down the pike a couple months back, maybe maybe not even before the WBA confirmed they would push for GGG vs Jacobs if Canelo momos out.

Lastly if Jacobs did sit & wait & things moved into place perfectly as people are suggesting is possible then I still see this fight happening in August at the earliest & more likely September & I just don't think fighting GGG with any rust on you is an ideal situation. I now it happens that guys are coming off 8-9mo layoffs and have semi-big to big fights, but this would very possibly be Jacobs biggest fight of his career & its gonna define Jacobs for many fans as a Khan-like gif or as a guy who beat this destroyer of boxers. This just isn't a regular fight like Andy Lee or whoever would be.

And my assumption would be if Jacobs has a fight scheduled (which it sounds like he more or less has had for longer than a day ago when this thread popped up) & the WBA is talking about making GGG vs Jacobs they aren't gonna force Jacobs to cancel his fight or lose his position, they would just push things forward to the earliest future date which would likely be Oct.-Dec.
