The path forward, from my perspective, is rather simple; Alvarez-Golovkin, for good or bad, will be settled by May 24th, the WBA has already made it clear that Daniel Jacobs is their mandatory challenger and Team Golovkin will likely be formally called before May 31st, with WBA rules seeming to point to the actual fight having to happen before the end of August (likely sooner based on when the WBA determines Golovkin was due to make a title defense).
Daniel Jacobs doesn't have to do much else but train; he's got his July 30th date seemingly locked in, has a pretty quality opponent lined up (in case Golovkin chooses to walk), and the WBA's calendar is lined up in his favor.
If Alvarez-Golovkin gets made, Daniel Jacobs has a fight date already lined up; if Alvarez-Golovkin doesn't get made, the WBA forces the fight, Golovkin walks, and Jacobs likely fights Blanco (on the date already in hand) as the first defense of his Super title.
