If they chose Brook over DeGale I'd be done with this guy for good. I'm glad to hear that's not the preference.

      Golovkin/Brook is ridiculous.

The rules are flexible for A side champs, not B side challengers. If the mando is due in may, and the challenger signed for a fight in the timeframe, they move on to the next guy. Esp when the hugely marketable champ is desperate to avoid that one mando. You're smart enough to get this so what gives?

Degale is with Haymon so I don't understand how that's easier to make?

I thought Golovkin's people didn't do business with Haymon or has that been resolved now?

It's not Golovkins people, HBO was not doing business with Haymon. But the new head of HBO seems more open to working with Haymon, plus Degale has a real promoter they can work with

Pay 'em then! GGG needs a quality opponent in 2016! He's starting to look like a hype job. I know it's not all his fault, but big fights are happening all around him, yet he's never part of one! I just hope he drops to 155 and fights Canelo in 2016!

I have a good feeling GGG wants DeGale at a CW so he can still use can't make 168 excuse. He fights DeGale at 168 and win or lose against Kov the next best fight for Ward would be GGG.
Ward and both Virgil Hunter said that Andre would need a couple of tune-ups before fighting GGG.

The contract they sent to Loeffler after Golovkin had signed to fight Lemieux was NOT an offer to fight GGG next. It was basically the same deal they made with Kovalev after Loeffler turned them down ... that Ward would have at least one more tune-up before facing Golovkin.

As has already been pointed out, Kovalev had nothing to lose by signing. He wasn't being asked to give up a mando position for a lineal title, or move up out of his natural division.

It's just business as usual for Krusher while he waits for Ward to stop fannying around and fight him.

Wade is an Al Haymon fighter, who is Golovkin's next opponent.

Loeffler has always maintained he's cool with Haymon, I think the issue in the past was Haymon guys not being able to fight on HBO (whether that's from Haymon saying no to HBO or HBO saying no to Haymon fighters or both). Things have started to change recently with Khan & Wade both fighting on HBO so it seems things are changing a bit.
