He's boxrec p4p #1. Yeah I know that's a joke, but most don't. He's also p4p top 10 everywhere, and also #1 at MW, above Ggg. Heck I think some rankings (here for example) would keep him above Ggg at MW even if he vacates/stripped for avoiding his mando

The second he can't get below 160lbs anymore will be the end of his career. At 160lbs, he would get destroyed by Golovkin and likely Daniel Jacobs too. He can't even move up in weight to avoid them, as guys like DeGale and Badou Jack would absolutely school him, despite his weight advantage against them. The only way for Canelo right now is down and he can't keep going down.
      Canelo is a terrific fighter.

When it comes time to move up to 160, he will more than hold his own. He's capable of beating any fighter at 160.

Canelo is a good fighter and the only ones at 160lbs I see beating him are Golovkin and Jacobs. Maybe Quillin too.

Moving down, he would also beat everyone, except Lara.

The problem is, he is good but not good enough to handle the best in any weight class. That's why he had to make his own weightclass.

He already beat Lara, at 23, as a constantly improving fighter he would beat him more comfortably in a rematch.

Golovkin is the only toss-up fight from 154-160 in my eyes, he beats the rest. What have Jacobs or Quillin shown to suggest they are capable of worrying Canelo? Two relatively easy fights.

Canelo just barely beat Cotto, almost losing. Cotto was not even a real middleweight boxer and the only things he had done in recent years was losing to Trout and beating an old cripple.

Canelo won by robbery against Lara and Trout and I don't believe that anyone thinks otherwise, not even Canelo's fans, it was just too obvious that he lost those fights.

As for Mayweather, he completely exposed Canelo.

It doesn't look too good for Canelo when he faces quality opponents. In a rematch, Lara would know that he has to be busier and probably win 10 out 12 rounds to get props from the judges.

What has Canelo done to him give him a chance against guys like Golovkin and Jacobs? Man, Canelo should try his luck against Quillin first and that would be a hard test for Canelo. Quillin would murder the Cotto that Canelo struggled against.

This has to be trolling here.

Canelo beat Cotto easily, it was 116-112 at the closest. Canelo landed all the good shots and controlled the action, Cotto threw nothing but pitty-pat shots all night.

I had Canelo Trout 116-112, the knockdown removing any doubt. Once again, Trout was trying to win on nothing but activity, Canelo won the fight in effective work and being the fighter landing the good shots. Canelo was much more accurate and landed the good shots.

Lara fight was close, but Lara stopped throwing as the fight progressed and began only moving. Early he looked good, but when Canelo began ripping the body the fight changed. Close fight between two top fighters, but 115-113 Canelo was a fair score.

Mayweather beat a 22 year old Canelo because he's the best fighter on the planet and Canelo wasn't ready for it at that point. Good learning experience though.

Canelo has beat several fighters better than Jacobs and Quillin, they haven't beat anyone close to as good as Canelo. He'd beat both comfortably.

Even if Canelo had beat Cotto 11 rounds to 12, it wouldn't be impressive. Cotto was much smaller and lost to Trout.

Trout and Lara both beat Canelo, he missed with almost all of his shots and the crowd went wild everytime he did anything, while they remained silent about the succes of his opponents.

Mayweather didn't just beat Canelo, he exposed him completely. It was the easiest fight Mayweather had been through in many years. Berto was a harder fight, Maidana was a harder fight, Pacquiao was a harder fight. Canelo posed as much of a challenge as Guerrero did.

Jacobs KOed Quillin in 1 round. That's more than anything Canelo has done.

Canelo landed the better work against both Lara and Trout. Lara was a close fight, he beat Trout close but clear.

Canelo tried to outbox Mayweather. Inexperience at age 22, he fought the wrong fight instead of trying to physically assert himself. It's a learning experience.

Quillin has beat nobody, he avoids the top guys. Jacobs beating him was no surprise. Canelo beats both and neither would be his best win; Lara and Trout are both better wins.

It's kinda sad that Canelo appeared to lose both of his best wins, wouldn't you agree? We both know that you didn't see Canelo win those fights. He could maybe deserve a generous draw against Trout, but nothing more than that.
