So when the man himself tells you Canelo was the better man and that he didn't do enough to win he's lying? And Canelo dominated with power punches, all the meaningful punches were landed by Canelo. The power shots broke Trout down and made him do the stanky leg and go down in the 7th. Buckled his knees with punches at least half a dozen times throughout the fight where as Trout NEVER hurt Canelo and the few shots he did land were soft jabs that did no damage. If not for open scoring telling the Canelo camp that he was way up he keeps his foot on the gas and tries to knockout trout in the latter rounds. Instead Canelo's camp told him you won the fight be smart. Trout threw exactly the same amount of punches he did in the Cotto fight. Yet he LANDED almost 100 fewer punches, at a significantly lower percentage actually missing 80% of the punches he threw. Canelo's defense and power counter punches confused and did Trout in. If you are were not the harder puncher then you need to land a hell of a lot more punches then Trout did and at a higher then 20% connect rate if you expect to win. He didn't do either.

And judging the fight per round is USELESS since the fight again was open scoring which completely influenced the fight especially the late rounds. And it's one of the biggest reasons why open scoring is so horrible because it robs fights of drama down the stretch because it turns into football where one team is up 3 TD's late and goes into prevent defense and is no longer playing the other team but is playing the clock. Open scoring made the final score card closer for me but Canelo won this fight convincingly and Trout should thank open scoring because he would of been KO'd if not for it.

I knew that would be your answer. Fact is, Trout won more rounds than Canelo did.

You want me to rewatch the fight right now and judge each round just because you say so? Child please. Canelo won this fight comfortably. It's a 3 year old fight how am I supposed to remember exactly what rounds I thought each fighter won you jacka ss. What did Trout do well in this fight? He landed a putrid 20% of his punches. Canelo landed the harder shots without question by the fact that he buckled Trout's knees all night long, and finally made him do the drunk dance and go down. Again you can win a fight despite being killed in the power punch category but to do so you need to out-land a high amount or high connect rate to offset the harder puncher. Trout did neither. And why debate on Trout's behalf when he himself said flat out I lost, Canelo surprised me, I had no answers, he was the better man, I'm sorry I let down my fans. These are all quotes by Trout who did not even ask for a rematch. Does this sound like a man who thinks he won this fight?

He won the MW title in his last fight.
Don't act likes he's had it for years.
And again who has he weight drained? GGG fight isn't made yet and for all we know the 155 talk is all speculation to get a better deal. He might end up fighting GGG at 60. We don't know.
Other than that what MW has been in serious talks to fight Canelo?
All his other fights have been against JR MW'S who instead of losing weight to 154 they went to 155. If anything it hurts Nelo since he's the one struggling to go down in weight. If he really wanted to take advantage he'd bring up 154 fighters to 160. This way he doesn't lose much more weight.

Trout was dropped and beaten easily that fight.
Even he admitted that Nelo got the best of him after the fight. So please stop your trolling.

By the way NOBODY on the Showtime broadcast thought Trout won the fight including Paulie who always favors the "boxer" over the puncher. ESPN Dan Rafael, Jake Donovan of Boxingscene.com, Ring Magazine, Bad Left Hook, ect all had Canelo winning the fight. Everyone complained about the open scoring interfering with the fight but nobody complained about the outcome if anything one of the judges had the fight too wide. But this revisionist history by bitter Canelo haters is hilarious. This fight was not controversial. The majority of media that was there scoring the fight gave the win to Canelo, the majority of fans who watched the fight gave the win to Canelo. He put Trout on his butt and Trout himself said he lost after the fight.

I had Trout by 1 PT, but didn't complain cause Canelo started coasting after the criminal open scores were announced after round 8. Here's some press scores, far from unanimous

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL, you boxing new boys need to seriously brush up on your history.

I'll give you something even worse than this Canelo stuff that has you crying.

Go and look up Sugar Ray Leonard's LHW title win and reign and then tell me how what Canelo is doing is worse?

I swear, you kids just like to throw out rubbish these days.

Yeah, I felt that Trout won too, but a draw would have been fine. I understand how some newbies to the sport, likely those who have never boxed themselves, would consider Canelo the winner, but honestly, he deserved no better than a draw and that's being generous just to respect his popularity.
