If he was draining opponents down to 154-155 that would be fair, but he's not. He hasn't fought an actual middleweight, nor has he fought as an actual middleweight.

I agree that he has no reason to keep the belt he took from Cotto and that he should return to 154, but at this stage I believe he's keeping it out of spite given the constant nonsense being spewed by the likes of Abel Sanchez.

I have no problem with him fighting at caneloweight if people are willing to fight there, just don't walk around posing as the Middleweight champion. Vacate the belt or defend it as it should be.

I know throughout history we have had A-sides and demands, but surely defending Middleweight belts at 155 limits is a modern day diva thing to be doing? Feel free to correct me. I'm sure catchweights have happened in the past, but guys inventing their own weightclass basically? no.

Angulo fights at 154, and routinely weighs 174-176 on fight night; heavier than Canelo. The point being that weighing 14+lbs more on fight night is not exclusive to one fighter.

I hope Canelo drops the 160 belt, as there's no need for him to have it, and returns to 154. I believe he will fairly soon.

He was at this caneloweight even before he won the mw title. It has nothing to do with him being the A-Side against ggg or not. And I'm far from a ggg fan. Nor am I speaking for the ts or anyone else.

Fact of the matter is he has the image, fanbase and a promoter behind him that his given him false entitlements. From wanting to push Mayweather out of his usual May/September dates after losing to him 11-1 on the cards, imo, to going against kirkland, angulo, lara and others at a catchweight that's actually set for a mma division, not boxing.

To winning the damn belt at a cw, to now not even wanting to give any other mw the chance to come in at the 160 limit, but forcing them to 155. This shit is a joke. IDC if you're pro PR, Floyd, Manny, Ward, Kov, Danny Garcia, PBC, HBO, ggg. It's straight disgusting, b.

The problem for Canelo is, he's getting older and he's too naturally heavy. It's getting more and more difficult for a fighter to lose weight as he ages. Canelo can't keep this circus up, he will be struggling to make 160lbs in 1-2 years and he will probably end his career at 168lbs. He won't be able to go down to 154 and stay there for long.

That seems to be the popular belief, but the actual situation says otherwise.

Canelo just made 155 with complete ease and looked as healthy and as full as he's ever looked at a weight in. I don't think he'll have a problem making weight anytime soon, I believe you'll merely see him staying in better shape and gaining less weight between fights.

He weightdrains his opponents and he then rehydrates to outweight them by 20lbs, which he is able to do due to his youth and his body type. What is this? And what's worse, he is considered the P4P#1 many places. For what? Getting schooled by Mayweather, arguably losing to Trout and Lara and just barely beating a past-it Cotto by decision? I think it's about time that the Canelo fanbase wakes up and stop supporting him until he pulls himself together and actually proves that he belongs among the best names in the sport. How could he do that? By doing these few things:
Wrong, he hasn't weight-drained anyone. Canelo, a jr. middleweight, recently fought other jr. middleweights a pound above the jr. middleweight limit. He came in at 154.5 vs Kirkland.

Name one "A side" in history that has held a title in a division, yet refused to let his opponent weigh in at the division limit. This goes beyond what is normal.
