Example-- garcia vs khan, Porter vs thurman,, winners meet for title..
Treat it like an mma organization and make tough matchups everytime..
After Russell jr best jhonny and Santa cruz beat mares, I would have matched them up for the PBC featherweight title..
These were all easy things to do, but instead they have random scheduling, don't build off any big wins, and is basically no different than the status quo crap from sanctioning bodies, arum, hbo, showtime...
Simply buying time on only SpikeTV, if Haymon's ultimate aim is as massive as folks seem to believe, is undercutting his ambitions for the sport.
Rushing through all of the matchups (before allowing the audience to actually rally behind guys and care), burns through the audience before new matchups can be built (notice how the UFC had to rush McGregor and Rousey to stardom, using the prop of targeting a fight against boxing's top star to actually make people give a ****, with McGregor thrown into headlining shows by his third UFC fight). You've got to prime the audience.
Haymon spent Yr 1 largely building the profiles of the fighters under his care; Yr 2, with the broader audience being more aware of the actual fighters, the matchups are starting to get tougher: Garcia-Guerrero, Thurman-Porter, Jack-ChavezJr, SpenceJr-Algieri, etc. Garcia-Thurman/Porter, Degale-Jack/ChavezJr, LSC/Frampton/Selby/GRJ facing off, and other matchups are already in the offing.

@ PBC still being around in 2-3 years time.

Make competitve matchups everytime, wtf... Every mma organizations do it... They actually have rankings that matter and guys move up and down the ladder and are always matched competitively. In boxing we got fres quendo a ****ing mandatory challenger FFS, look who stevenson has fought recently, Santa cruz's last fight... Those fights are jokes..
Are you actually ok with all the mismatches in boxing, and how the timing works in boxing,...
That's why boxing is dead, and has lost all casuals and mainstream attention...
Since the begining of PPv, boxing has always been able to deliver stars that could get 1 million PPv buys... Today, the biggest star in his prime can't even crack a million in his biggest fight possible..
It's really a bad sign when canelo-cotto can't break a million...
PBC would be better served with competitive fights, rather than mismatches

Yes, a brand that's done nothing but lose an absurd amount of money in a short period of time while not making anything in return has real potential for long term sustainability. Dumbass.

But I'm also a realist,, and it's clear that PBC has fumbled a lot in their first 15 months..
But it's boxing fans like yourself that have allowed the sport to go down the drain,,, your perfectly happy with 99% of matchups being cherrypicks...
Tell me a fighter that took 2 or 3 big fights in a row... In mma they do it all the time and that's why they create stars and boxing's star power is dwindling..
You never answered my question- how can Conor mccgregor headline his first card in January 2015 and then reel off 3 straight blockbuster PPVs selling million buys, and PBC hasn't made one guy out of an entire stable?? Why is that??
And Conor's debut headline vs Dennis siver on foxsports1 got higher ratings than any Pbc card to date... Why is that??
How come no network is willing to pay for boxing, yet they all are lined up to pay for mma...
NBC funds World Series of fighting
Viacom/spikeTV funds bellator
Fox funds ufc
Axs funds Lion, legacy, Titan, one fc, etc
Every major mma company has network TV backing,,, Why? Because mma organizations constantly make competitive matchups, have legit titles and contenders... Networks won't touch boxing because boxing doesn't provide good matchups on a regular basis, has little to none brand recognition, few legit champs or contenders,.. PBC had a chance to seperate itself from the crap that is boxing, and should be ran like an mma company, but instead they are no different than arum and the sanctioning bodies
Haymon's entire effort, the crux of which anyway, is to do away with boxing being driven almost exclusively by the PPV model, hence Haymon not really being all that focused on creating a PPV star at the moment.
Haymon is trying to shoot the moon with his effort; if the plan works, his first pay deal is likely going to be for at least $100m-$150m per year, for 50 fight cards (likely 10 of which set for Saturday primetime on terrestrial TV). With W&R already accepting the possibility of losing their 1%, Haymon heads back to Showtime with a roster of fighters who'd just picked up a ton more exposure (with W&R likely cut in on his adviser fees for the foreseeable future).
To argue that no one is willing to pay for boxing is laughable, especially not even knowing the type of money being put up for WSOF and Bellator(an organization owned by SpikeTV parent Viacom).
