some of these people are absolutely delusional. Canelo is on record, almost every other day, talking about how he's not moving away from 155 pounds and not "giving concessions to Triple-G", and yet these guys can pretend weight isn't an issue. Then on top of that, Oscar is talking about 90/10 which is an absolute joke especially considering this is a 3 belt middleweight unification fight, and these same clowns are talking about "Canelo is A-Side, lil g-string needs to accept deze terms". This is exactly what is wrong with boxing in 2016 (the worst fans on the planet).

NATAS what is wrong with boxing is HBO is not mandating the fight to happen. HBO will not force Canelo to fight GGG because they make money as long as they can put both guys in with bums and they score KO's.

As long as fans keep supporting those shows, there is no reason for HBO to make the fight or for Canelo to move off his demands. He can fight BJS in a unification or one of the many other options he has.

He didn't do the same. He offered a more reasonable CW, cause you know, unlike Canelo he wanted the fight made. He was also bringing no lineal title, but that paper one stolen from weakest link. He also wasn't heavier than Hop fight night lol. In fact much smaller, going for 6th divisional belt

you keep bringing up these little things to carve out wiggle room and act like it makes things so much different. It doesn't.

Almost everyone agrees its not right to have title shots beneath the weight limit. Almost everyone also agrees that concessions have to be made to land the big money fight with the top superstar. SO we are at the point where the "rubber meets the road".

155, while not "right" IMO, is "fair" IMO, given what Team GGG said regarding weight previously. 90/10 is not "right" but given that Canelo is a much bigger draw than GGG and his PPV (whichever # you use 97k/150k) wasn't a huge success, it's understandable why ODH started there.

If GGG takes the fight at 155 and a huge split in money and wins, he will reap the same benefits others before him have when they gave major concessions and won despite those circumstances.

GGG would be earning his respect and stardom, which is how it should be.

I'm not sure many people here understand how these things work.

Mayweather and Pacquaio were both universally considered the P4P beat fighters in the world when they fought Oscar. Was Oscar even considered Top 20? Doubtful. Especially for the Pacquaio fight. Yet Oscar took the huge chunk of the money, made all the demands, had everything his way. Why? Because he was the A side at the time.

It's really that simple.

Canelo is the A side here and it's really not close at all. Golovkin is going to have to bend to Canelo's demands if he wants the fight. That's how it works.

Golovkin attempting to do a PPV with Lemiuex was a big mistake, he had good ratings on HBO before that which gave him some ammo (not much but some) but then once his PPV did 150k then that destroyed all chances of Canelo not being in the driving seat.

I don't think that's a major factor. 150k was just the live US audience. GGG/Lemieux was televised in over 100 countries worldwide and the repeat screenings on HBO both got around 1.25 million views.

K2 never expected it to get anywhere near the kind of PPV numbers that Canelo gets. The fact that it got 50k less than Loeffler was hoping for is neither here nor there, imo.

Oscar isn't inisting on a catchweight because he doesn't consider GGG a big enough draw. He's insisting on it because he doesn't believe Canelo can beat Golovkin without it.
