About the weight, I'd prefer 160 but 157 is more than fair. Especially if they want the fight right now. There's no way in hell Canelo is going to 160 by September. It's just not happening.

As far as the WBC strap, that's just another bargaining chip Canelo picked up in his pursuit of Cotto (which he's been trying to fight since 2013.)

It just so happened Cotto picked it up along the way and now Canelo owns it....BUT now that he DOES own it, you don't just go giving it away...it's part of his leverage now.

If I have a hand in poker that will take all your money, I'm not just gonna NOT use it for the moral fact of not wanting to send you home broke. Cmon Beer!

I was born ready! Apparently not to face someone in his weight class

While I do not think any title should be contested at a weight below the division max, I have seen it happen many times with fighters superior and bigger draws than GGG. That he may have to make concessions to get the big money fight, even if he is the mando, is not a big deal IMO.

GGG, when he is the "a side", conducts himself the same way Canelo is acting toward him. I don't see how he or his fans can whine about being treated the same way you treated others.
      How many times you seen:

      1. Champ demanding CW from a mando
      2. Anybody, much less lineal champ, dragging divisional rival to lowest possible CW?
      3. Champ demanding a CW while heavier than challenger fight night?

      Let me know!

Then on top of that, Oscar is talking about 90/10 which is an absolute joke especially considering this is a 3 belt middleweight unification fight, and these same clowns are talking about "Canelo is A-Side, lil g-string needs to accept deze terms". This is exactly what is wrong with boxing in 2016 (the worst fans on the planet).
        I couldn't agree more.

          174 vs Angulo
No more fight night weights going forward?

and lets not forget GGGs team said Monroe was a bigger name than lara...
And what's your point there? Even nobodies like Lara, washed up Angulo and Kirkland got way more than 10%, and Khan seems to be getting near 50%.

I don't know what has happened in negotiations. This isn't just a mando its a unification fight as GGG's WBA title should supoercede his being ranked #1 contender to the WBC title.

As for unification fights a t a CW-chavez sr/sweet pea, odh/bhop, Floyd/canelo and srl/lalonde are the ones I can think of right now. #2 and #3 I don't know. What does it matter that it's never happened before.

GGG wants the Canelo payday. In order to get it, Canelo/ODH are telling hi what he has to do to get it. If he doesn't, then no payday.

GGG also wants the WBC title. He may get it in a title fight with whomever the #2 WBC contender is if Canelo is stripped or vacates. Cool, he just will not get the payday.

As I clearly made the point of saying those were Golovkin's words not mine. If he's not a credible source then I'll retract my statements.

Are you willing to drop down to 155?

What weight are you talking about?

The weight of 155 pounds, which Saul’s team says are one of the conditions of them fighting you.

The information at your disposal is nothing but drama, PR bull**** put on by his promoters.

No one is losing sleep over a fight taking a little longer to finalize. I'm simply not running alongside the rest of the sheep, we've seen these scenarios play out before.

Gotcha, no examples for me. You know, if it's something bad, and unprecedented, it's probably unprecedentedly bad. Most shameful CW demand of all time.

                    • i think negotiations are simple... only reason they are complicated is because the middleweight champion doesn't want his challengers to fight at the middleweight limit...

I doubt GGG is expecting to get half the purse, the location, the ring size or any other thing related to this fight.
