I'm other words Oscar thinks GGG knocks out Canelo, taking his title and a little bit of his star quality.

I don't see why Oscar is so worried, no one is going to think less of Canelo for losing to GGG and afterwards they can sell his comeback story for even more money. Fans are suckers for a good comeback story.

Hell look at Badou Jack, you had idiots really advocating for him to be FOTY after getting flatten by Edwards. Fans love comeback stories.

This what out boils down to. Go to a purse bid. End of story.

canelo is just a superstar because he's from the right country though. if ggg fought khan he would be laughed out of the sport. lets be honest.

GGG doesn't want a purse bid he could of forced a purse bid back in Dec but didn't. Could of forced a purse bid with Cotto but he didn't. News flash he doesn't care about the belt that's why he keeps agreeing to step aside and allowing voluntary fights. If he forces a purse bid he gets a vacant belt which means nothing and loses a big fight. The fight only gets made if he concedes to the bigger stars demands. Canelo had to do it to fight Floyd and GGG expected Ward to do it so now it's his turn to do it.

If that were the case then every Mexican would be where Canelo is why aren't they? Canelo is the superstar because he's fought and beaten FAR better competition then GGG has. One guy has faced over 10 world champs while the other has fought less then half that many despite being almost a decade older. One guy has faced numerous HOFers while the other has faced ZERO. One guy has faced numerous top 10 p4p ranked fighters while the other has faced ZERO. I'll let you look it up and see which guy Canelo is and which is GGG. Canelo earned his superstar status and has given in to other fighters demands to make big fights. GGG hasn't earned anything and has fought nothing but C and D class fighters and thinks he's a superstar because that? Canelo sells out baseball parks, and pulls in huge PPVs and his resume right now is superior to GGG's resume. He doesn't need GGG to become a superstar he already is one. GGG needs him if he ever wants to become a superstar. So do what Canelo did when he fought Floyd.

Being the better fighter never mattered in negotiations. Being the bigger draw, more popular fighter, with proven drawing power is what matters. Besides, we do not know the full extent of GGG's skills since we have not seen him against elite fighters yet. He has refused to fight at least one elite fighter around his weight class that could have shown us more of him at the top level, that is #1 Jr MW Erislandy Lara. So to say GGG is the vastly better fighter, I respect your opinion but don't agree, we do not know that for sure. We've seen Canelo's flaws because that's what happens at the top, win or lose, the opponent exposes some flaws in the winner sometimes.

                  Exactly.

I'm not sure many people here understand how these things work.

Mayweather and Pacquaio were both universally considered the P4P beat fighters in the world when they fought Oscar. Was Oscar even considered Top 20? Doubtful. Especially for the Pacquaio fight. Yet Oscar took the huge chunk of the money, made all the demands, had everything his way. Why? Because he was the A side at the time.

                  It's really that simple.

Canelo is the A side here and it's really not close at all. Golovkin is going to have to bend to Canelo's demands if he wants the fight. That's how it works.

Golovkin attempting to do a PPV with Lemiuex was a big mistake, he had good ratings on HBO before that which gave him some ammo (not much but some) but then once his PPV did 150k then that destroyed all chances of Canelo not being in the driving seat.

I get that he's the "A-side" I'm just saying lets not kid ourselves. It's because of the country he's from. No he didn't earn his superstar status lol.

He's the same size (A couple pounds heavier) than Golovkin and if Golovkin fought any of Canelo's opponents, he would be pelted in garbage for "picking on little guys". And that's not counting... Amir Khan!!! LOL!!!

Why can't people just be real on here? He's doing the same thing Chavez Jr did he's just marginally better at it.
