Yes and no. Most of the time, he was not very entertaining in terms of action and excitement. But, for the technique oriented mind, there was a lot to take away. People who have boxed probably got a lot more out of his fights than people who haven't but he NEVER had the kind of entertainment value of a Pacquiao, Martinez, Margorito, or others of his era.
Let's be honest...Mayweather was boring

I think this sums it up perfectly.
And it's not his fault, but the caliber of guys he fought look pretty sad compared to past eras and that's not being nostalgic. How would these guys compete against the actual good natural sized welterweights of the '70s, '80s and '90s?
I can't see Maidana, Berto, Guerrero or even Canelo doing that well against Leonard, Hearns, Cuevas, Palomino, Benitez, Breland, Curry, Trinidad, Quartey or Whitaker, who of course, was no natural welterweight.
His style worked for him in this era and he never went for the KO, especially in his second career. Fans want a guy to go for it, not stick to the old boring plan and run the clock out. You can be aggressive without running into punches.Comment

I didn't find any of those fights boring.
The Pacquiao fight was nowhere near as bad as people make out. Of course it was never going to live up to the ridiculous hype but people who were desperate to see Floyd lose are mainly the ones who complain about it.Comment

In every sport when there's person/team dominating their closest opposition so easily haters start saying it's boring. Haters rarely had anything to cheer about in Mayweathers fights because he was beating these guys without getting out of second gear.Comment

I bet the people that think Mayweather is boring pick him to lose most of his fights. Right around the 5th or 6th round when it sets in that he's not going to lose, they get mad, and declare the fight boring. If they believe ahead of time the opponent will definitely lose (Berto, Guererro, etc), they watch the fight anyway just to say how boring it was.Comment
