Can we please drop all the pretence and just admit it: he's one of the most talented fighters of all time, but he was also one of the most boring. His 49-0 is an achievement, I admit, but out of the 49 fights there are probably only a few I find interesting, and that's being very generous.
Old Mayweather was kind of boring but highly efficient. Young Mayweather was a sight to behold though.

True, when he was young I'll give him that, but when he got older he was a marathon expert.

Boring is putting it lightly. C u n t boxing more like it.

Agreed. Skills, pop AND aggression. Beautiful skills. He had it all and used it.

The only fight I get really annoyed by is Gatti though. Gatti should never have been in the ring with him. It was a pointless fight and I give no credit for it.

Gatti was one of the belt holders at 140. He wasn't the best at 140 but he was among the best.

              Ehhh.

I buy the Baldomir fight for belts but Floyd was already at that elite high level of picking fights for legacy, the challenge, the box office, etc, etc. sure Gatti probably bought bums on seats but it just leaves a slightly sour taste in the mouth for me.

The later fights I loved were Cotto, Oscar (a tough, close, great fight), Hatton (too high a weight class but the same result at 140lbs with the KO a bit later) and Zab for the early rounds.

It was what one would consider negative fighting. All Floyd did was just enough to win. Not fan appealing type fighter.

The way boxing is structured, you can have someone that is not that good hold a belt. Baldomir is a good example of someone that was not that good and had the lineal.

Gatti was at the end of his career, struggling to make 140 and under Buddy McGirt, Gatti was no longer the same fighter (changed his style). It helped Gatti continue fighting a bit more but that's it.

That is the fight where Floyd gives Gatti a cheap shot when the ref asks them to break and knocks down Gatti. If it was someone else, they may have even been DQd.
