    Really?

I'm not talking about your average CW.

Give me a list of fighters who had to drop weight to fight for lineal belts, even though they were current champs and established fighters in their divisions at the time.

    It stinks.

Again, you're bringing up belts like that's what GGG is after here. I don't think so. I'm pretty sure he'd be disappointed if Canelo vacated. He's chasing big money and elite status, that much is clear.

They look like concessions to you because you're not seeing the big picture. They lost nothing by letting Cotto and Canelo keep the belt this long. Nothing. In the meantime, they won the IBF belt and now they're going to take care of the mandatory so they can keep it. They just kicked the WBC can down the road a bit and all that's happening is the pressure's building for Canelo to take the fight. I believe GGG wants to unify. He and his team have been consistent about it for the past couple of years. Maybe he's not quite as desperate for the payday as you think?

You can't justify it just by saying other fighters made concessions.

If Canelo dropped the belt he should be absolutely crucified.

I don't think you understood my post at all. You might've jumped in mid-convo.

Justify what? My point is that if GGG wants that big fight, he'll have to make concessions. Whether you think that's right or wrong. Other fighters did it. Forgive me if the idea that in order to achieve greatness you need to make a sacrifice doesn't sound crazy.

A CW should be put in place to make a fight happen between two fighters who fight in different divisions, not between two fighters from the same division.

B..b..but it's for a title. That doesn't mean ****, the affects of a catchweight on the body doesn't suddenly change because there's a title on the line. It's the only excuse you little G nuthuggers can run with, to try and defend him being an hypocrite.

                      This is mind boggling.

Canelo should be absolutely roasted here.

He weighs in as a LHW on fight night, yet he's supposedly too small to fight at the limit?

                      Come on now.

If the division is too big for him, he should have stayed at JMW.

He is now obligated to fight at MW, as the lineal title holder.

If he wants to weigh in at 155, fine, but he shouldn't be able to dictate what a fellow champion has to weigh in at.

How can any real boxing fan support this?
I don't think it's a matter of supporting it. It's a matter of understanding it. Canelo as the A-side wants every advantage possible going into one of the most difficult fights of his career.

It's a bit*h move but what can you do?
