Of course it is. He's satisfied taking on those opponents.

I fully get the stance that some have, but ultimately Canelo won his belt at a catchweight and has never weighed in or fought an opponent at the MW limit...I'd rather he just drop the belt.

Canelo, with or without a belt, is the biggest name in boxing. He's going to make huge money in every fight and guys will gladly give up a couple of lbs here and there for the chance....if Golovkin won't then Canelo has no need for the fight.

Given Canelo's past, I believe he'll take the fight anyway, but he is not in need of it.
I agree with a lot of what you wrote.

GG needs this fight so bad. Canelo doesn't.

But no, he shouldn't have to concede even a pound.

Boxing is already on it's arse, without lineal titles being fought at CW's.

          What are you talking about?

If Canelo manned up, GG would love to fight him.

          He'd also fight Saunders too.

Just because he needs a big fight though, it doesn't mean he should have to give into Canelo's demands, which go completely against the rules of boxing.

We can't have fighters changing the rules of boxing.

Boxing is already at a low.

            I'm off.

            Nice debating with you all.

            Hopefully the fight will happen.

Canelo defended his 154 belts at 152 to secure the Mayweather fight, despite being a huge draw himself.

I understand the Golovkin stance, but bigger names have made concessions in search of legacy fights.

Of course he'd agree to CWs.

GGG is asking for 160 because Canelo is the 160 champ. Like GGG said, if Canelo doesn't want GGG at 160, he can drop the belt and give it to GGG. As fans, we lose but I'm sure GGG will be somewhat satisfied.

Too bad if he doesn't want to make concessions in order to get big fights. I'm not crying.
