K2 hasn't spoken about the HBO meeting because there's no need to in their universe. You see, they don't sit around all day like you to try to formulate talking points as to why their fighter who's working his butt off to build his brand isn't ready to bow to the demands of another fighter who's barely set foot in a ring the past two years. They are busy negotiating fights that can actually happen. If they read these threads, they'd likely get a good chuckle at the amount of time and emotional energy spent on this topic. You're wasting my time here with your nonsense.
Here's Tom walking back all his statements. Ward got him shook!

GGG was lying when he said that meeting happened that's why that was the first and last time anybody from GGG's camp ever brought it up!
I linked to the article because while it doesn't confirm the HBO meeting like the Loeffler tweet, it does claim that K2 presented a list of acceptable fights to HBO and that Ward was on that list thereby supporting the idea that GGG was open to a Ward fight at that time.

Your assumption that GGG must have been lying because they never mentioned the HBO meeting it just that. An assumption. Not based on facts but your own personal bias. Why would Golovkin make this up?

Loeffler, Sanchez, and GGG never mentioned the HBO meeting as far as I know. It only appeared in the Russian interview and was confirmed in the Loeffler tweet I posted. What more do you need? The reason they didn't talk about it had nothing to do with Ward. It's just good business practice not to talk too much about what happens behind closed doors in business meetings. Golovkin was angry because of some Ward comments and fired back in his native language.

And yes, Loeffler agreed to a media truce after he was approached by Ward and admitted that Abel is a loose cannon who'll say what he wants. The truce didn't last long as both of these camps kept getting asked questions about each other. Ward wouldn't shut up about it either. And so it goes....

Ward has never denied what Golovkin said in the Russian interview and neither did HBO.

Ward told Loeffler to stop talking about him if they weren't going to make the fight, and Loeffler did that.

Then Ward broke the "truce" by accusing Golovkin of making excuses for not fighting him.

That was when GGG revealed what had happened at the meeting he and Andre had with HBO, and Loeffler backed up Golovkin's account.

        Ward never denied it.

And they didn't want to make GGG/Ward because of Ward's lack of popularity (among other issues) due to inactivity. Barrera's an unknown, so they have no problems putting them together.
LMAO!! Who told you that, was it Sanchez, Loeffler or Baby G himself? Please share your source on what they meant.

They're saying they wanted none of Ward...

Loeffler and Sanchez both used that excuse

Team Bull**** are full of lies and hypocrisy, everyone can see it...... and yet you "fans", wouldn't call them out on those lies if your life depended on it.

Just gotta keep that creepy GGG man-love going.

We get a lot of heat from Ward fans because we were willing to go to 168 pounds to fight Chavez and Froch, but that was before Golovkin had a bona-fide star (Alvarez) to fight in his own division,” Loeffler said..... Loeffler believes Ward has the potential to be that kind of star rival for Golovkin, AFTER the Californian gets back into a regular fighting schedule and beats a high-profile opponent (such as Kovalev).".....

"But Andre needs to fight, to fight to be relevant..... just because he won the Super-6..... doesn't make him qualified for these kind of fights".....
Gennady Golovkin’s trainer doesn’t think a much-discussed bout between Golovkin and Andre Ward warrants serious consideration, assuming the heavily favored Golo

The only person to mention this is supposedly GGG. Only once. HBO, Loeffler, Sanchez, Ward, Hershman....nobody but GGG.

Loeffler didn't agree to a media truce. Ward told him to stop lying and Loeffler STFU. Ward steady talked about "Lil G" so I don't know where you get this idea of a media truce. Once Ward put them on notice to stop lying, Loeffler didn't have anything else to say.

                      The original article says:
"I think that Andre is the kind of athlete that stays in the gym"; Sanchez stated while discussing their 12-round light heavyweight fight. I don't think the inactivity, as much as the injury he had [which required shoulder surgery], would affect him that much. I'm sure that come fight night some of his skills might not be there at the beginning. But as the fight goes on, he's gonna recall all that and make for a great fight."

When it comes to Ward, they always said he needs to get back into the ring and restore his popularity. For example, here:
“If Roc Nation can get him back to where he was in the sport, then that becomes a big fight. There’s no reason not to fight Andre Ward. It’s just that he’s been out of the ring,” Loeffler said. “When people ask him [Ward] would he fight Gennady, and when people ask Abel or Gennady if they’d fight Andre Ward, they say yes. It’s just making the financials work. So far Andre hasn’t really brought the same amount of money that Gennady brings right now. If he kind of gets back in the swing of things, his popularity gets back up there, then there’s no reason not to make that fight.”

This is pretty much the whole GGG vs Ward argument in a nutshell - a bunch of idiots who try to misconstrue everything that is said so they can continue to troll the forums. I guess you weren't bad so bad before since you're not on my ignore list yet.
