All time is a stretch. Catchweights are a part of boxing.

    -At age 34
-GGG never fought professionally below 160.
-GGG is putting 3 belts on the line

-Canelo is a MW who slims down well because he's very young. This is not 2 fighters from different divisions meeting. They're both MWs.

Canelo keeps talking about how he had to give up advantages which is plain bull****. He drained 2 lbs in his early 20s? That's him giving up an advantage? GTFO.
GGG steps on the scales at 158 and looks healthy. Stop reaching. You clowns were all over his offer to face Mayweather at 154.

Canelo, don't be a coward, you are supposed to be a Mexican warrior, not a diva.

IDC if they fought in a dennys parking lot for free grand slams with only 1 person there. This was his ticket and he and his team fumbled it away. Now at 34 he is stuck accepting step aside after step aside and fighting the same level of comp.

Big fights for him are at 168 but hes wasting his time in the MW wasteland
How the hell do you think Ward fresh out of the wastelands would give anyone "superstardom" status? It would do less than Cotto-Martinez.

Had he beat that Ward already he'd still be in the same boat.

Cause till this day Ward is considered one of the best if not the best

Numbers dont mean anything to me. The fights do and this would have pitted two of the best against each other.

Do you want the watch the best fights or are you hoping for a camera angle showing only the crowd

Yea he's only 'ripping' off 97,000 boxing fans who bought that garbage he put on ppv. And you still haven't answered the question.

Nobody's reaching for anything, those are facts. Floyd's tiny compared to Golovkin so GGG should slim down. Canelo's at least same size as Golovkin and just wants to weaken him because he's 25 and Golovkin is not.

You little girls defending diva antics are what kills the sport's popularity. CWs are like telling Jordan "We'll play you, but you can't shoot jumpers today, ok?"

Btw - where do you see Golovkin stepping on scales at 158?

No but GGG beating him would have made him a superstar. GGG is already big but writers/trainers/..boxing people and casuals respect Ward and that cant be denied. So a win over a legit top/elite fighter would have done that for him

That meant they could carry on dancing around the issue for years without losing popularity with their fans.

Canelo is on the spot now. He holds a title and Golovkin is his mandatory challenger. If GGG doesn't agree to a catchweight and it goes to a purse bid, Canelo will have to either fight him at 160, for a 45/55 split, or duck him. He has no other alternatives.

Floyd and Manny were never put on the spot like that by any of the governing organisations.
You don't get it cut the crap those organizations wanted Manny/Floyd to fight just like all the fans. And would of had no problem mandating it. But they had no power so they broke rules, created phony belts and let them fight who they wanted to in the meantime because if they didn't both guys would of vacated their belts. Again it's semantics but the same thing. You are hanging on this BS that well GGG is the mandatory like that has power over Canelo it sure didn't over Cotto? Nobody is forcing Canelo to fight GGG just like nobody was forcing Floyd and Manny to fight. These fighters are simply too big and pick who they want to fight and the belts either go along with it or get put in the trash. The fact that neither Floyd or Manny were officially mandated has no impact on why the fight took so long to make and whether either guy ducked the other. Your are f'ing idiot for thinking that it did. This fight happens if GGG agrees to Canelo's demands not because some corrupt organization made him mandatory. Ali was the mandatory when Bradley won his belt. Not only did he ignore the organization and fight someone else even after the fight he picked other non mandatory fighter. And what did the organization do? The created a new Super belt to allow it. But you think the WBC has power to control who Canelo a much bigger superstar then Bradley? Get real! LMAO
