Knowing damn well politics and the fact the belt organizations knew Floyd and Manny were too big and they could not impose or force them to fight ANYONE let alone each other so they created special loop holes and belts so that they never embarrassed themselves by enforcing a mandatory and then watching Floyd or Manny dump the titles. So they avoided that let them keep belts and avoid each other while they got to collect sanction fees from their fights. Again these fighters are bigger then the belts. Floyd and Manny fought each other when they were ready and you are fool if you think it had anything to do with who these fraud alphabelt titles wanted. You are trying to make a case that Canelo will be forced into a fight with GGG when history shows us these organizations have little power and rarely enforce their own rules and even if they do fighters have no problem vacating their belts. Only way GGG get's a fight with Canelo is if he agrees to fight on Canelo's terms.
You're still not getting it. What I'm saying is that Manny and Floyd were never put into a position where one had to blatently duck the other to avoid the fight.

That meant they could carry on dancing around the issue for years without losing popularity with their fans.

Canelo is on the spot now. He holds a title and Golovkin is his mandatory challenger. If GGG doesn't agree to a catchweight and it goes to a purse bid, Canelo will have to either fight him at 160, for a 45/55 split, or duck him. He has no other alternatives.

Floyd and Manny were never put on the spot like that by any of the governing organisations.

Canelo went down from 155 to 152 to make the biggest PPV fight in boxing history at the time so I'm sure he's thinking he can have GGG meet him in this instance.

You dudes was cheerleading GGG making A-side demands against Ward but are crying when the favor gets returned on him.
This is an all time disgraceful demand though. It'd be as if Ggg won the lineal SMW belt and demanded to unify 3 belts vs mando Ward at 161. It's comical

Precisely this. There is nothing more to it and nothing less to it other than this here.

If he wanted the fight and knew his advantage was to weigh 155 then he would just sign it at 160 with no BS because he would feel comfortable in his weight of 155.

It is all BS and diva manipulation tactics. Canelo does not need to weigh in at 155, at all. He just wants GGG to, which as you said is cowardly. He may as well just announce to the press that he doesn't want it, it would make more sense just to admit it.

GGG is smaller than Canelo but beats people Canelo's size. That is why he wants him weighing in too light, nothing else too it.

A better question would be - is Golovkin damaging the reputation of boxing like Floyd and Manny did by ripping off millions of fans all over the world.

            The answer is no.

Ward was his ticket? To what exactly?

Not that it would've even happened yet. Just Golovkin sitting out a year.

                And here's the difference -
-Canelo went down from 154 to 152 - 2 lbs
                -Canelo was 23
-Canelo fought at 150 2 years before
-Canelo was 'risking' a belt that he didn't care about that was gifted to him
-Canelo/Floyd were not each other's mandatories
-Floyd is a 146 fighter who was fighting a 154. They met 6 pounds north, advantage: Canelo

-GGG is being asked to shed 5 lbs
                -At age 34
-GGG never fought professionally below 160.
-GGG is putting 3 belts on the line
                -mandatorydoe
-Canelo is a MW who slims down well because he's very young. This is not 2 fighters from different divisions meeting. They're both MWs.

Canelo keeps talking about how he had to give up advantages which is plain bull****. He drained 2 lbs in his early 20s? That's him giving up an advantage? GTFO.

They fought when they wanted and no belt was going to dictate it. Same with canelo. These fighters are bigger then the belts. No mandatory is going to force canelo to do anything same with floyd and Manny which is why both saw organizations break their own rules and create super belts just for them. Bradley didn't fight his mandatory in Ali and never got stripped they just made a new belt. Those orgs never made them mandatory because they knew they decide if they want to fight not them and either guy would of trashed the belt if they were forced to take a fight they didn't want.
Another fact they forget is that when Floyd wasn't fighting Manny he was fighting Oscar @ 154, Cotto @ 154 and Canelo @ 152. How many times did Manny move up in weight? They went outside their weight classes to fight the big fights! While GGG has been waiting for Cotto or Canelo, who has he been fighting in the meantime?

                    This is spot on.

They are both middleweights, but Canelo is younger and has been practising cutting down to 155 for over a year.

He wants Golovkin to cut down too because he believes it will weaken him.

                    That's it, simple as.

                      Superstardom.

Ward brought the respect, resume, name, prestige, and anything else you want to think of when it comes to elite v elite fighters fighting. IDC if they fought in a dennys parking lot for free grand slams with only 1 person there. This was his ticket and he and his team fumbled it away. Now at 34 he is stuck accepting step aside after step aside and fighting the same level of comp.

Big fights for him are at 168 but hes wasting his time in the MW wasteland
