Years later he's still a fckin can trying to get work from the great Saul Alvarez lol
If GGG wasn't at 160, Canelo would have moved up a year ago.
Canelo is the only fighter in this age that actively attempts to win and defend division titles at a specific weight that isn't the division limit.
You can twist, stretch, bend, logic all you want, if GGG was lineal SMW champ, and forced all MW down to 161, you'd have a fit.
If Canelo fights GGG, then he'll be the tin can.

Canelo can NOT dictate that in a WBC Title Fight PERIOD! (And he knows that)
1. WBC orders a purse bid and Canelo throws the belt in the trash vacating it
GGG loses the fight.
2. WBC finds a way to break their own rules by giving Canelo another voluntary defense or creates a new Super belt so he doesn't have any more mandatory. And GGG loses the fight

155 or 160... it doesnt matter bcuz you turds are gonna be crying about fight night weights any way..especially when Canelo UDs GGG. Fight night weights doe...sound about right?
For the record id rather they fight at 160 then u crybabies will have less room for excuses...not like thats gonna stop em.
Also..is Canelo admitting GGG whooped him in sparring? Sparring tapes doe...for you posters who rely on sparring sessions...those dont matter when so much time has past since and Canelo has advanced much faster than GGG has, his opposition proves that and when they dodquare off, that class will be evident. As it is in every fight.

As it stands now, he has nothing but 97K computer geeks that get off watching him beat up, B and C level paper titlist. As it stands right now, its a 90:10 split on money, and it will be fought at 155. GGG might get a 20% split. But this thing WILL happen at 155 or no fight.
Anyone with an education higher than 8th grade will dismiss you as an idiot.
but carry on Corky!!

Sergio took the fight on Cotto's terms getting a 15% of the purse while 85% went to Cotto and at the catchweight . And Cotto was supposed to fight GGG he was the mandatory dictated by the WBC after that fight. How did that work out? And already the WBC allowed a voluntary defense for Canelo. Laughing you guys who think the same organization that couldn't dictate jack to Cotto will somehow dictate to Canelo and save GGG at the negotiation table telling him who and at what weight he will fight at. 2 things will happen if GGG does not agree to Canelo's demands.

Cotto's a legit Jr MW. He's 5'7" and makes 154 in his sleep.
The "catchweight" was 159. And Martinez weighted more than 159 twice in his career.
For all the 'diva' antics that Miguel gets crap for, he's not bad at all.

But to be fair, Canelo should defend at 160 or drop the belt.
It may not just be Golovkin who will have to cut weight to fight Canelo.
I understand if Canelo wants to make Golovkin wait until he is ready at 160, I got no problem with that at all..... but it is starting to become clear that Canelo has no intention of moving to middleweight.
First Hoya announces that Canelo's next opponent COULD be a JMW, then Warren confirms that they made an offer to Smith, now Canelo states that Golovkin still has to drop to 155.
Canelo will fight Golovkin, but he aint giving up any advantages, Golovkin will have to be the one who works for it.
Like you said, smart move by Canelo, they have learnt how the game works.
But the WBC are likely within their rights to strip Canelo now.
And they probably should, Canelo doesn't give a fk about the MW title.
