None of us matter in this sport. Its an internet forum where we discuss and debate. You boys wanna think it wouldnt have led to superstardom and i truly believe it would have. There was a reason Team GGG was afraid to put him in there. It was because he was elite and many who do matter knew that.

Which is a lot better than 155. Who the fcuk imposes max cws like this? And

      1. Gimme some examples of champs demanding cws vs mando
      2. How about lineal champs demanding CW vs divisional rivals, other than paper champ Cotto
      3. How about champs demanding cws (never mind max) when they outweigh the other guy fight night lol

Whatever the reasons, Manny and Floyd were never put on the spot by any of the governing organisations, so neither of them had to clearly duck the other.

          That's not semantics, it's a fact.
No you are the only idiot that needed there to be a mandatory to understand both ducked each other. There was no mandatory because they didn't want to lose Floyd or Manny as their champion not the other way around. Only fact is you are an idiot and don't understand how boxing works. Both Floyd and Manny were the 2 best fighters in the world and you think it was an accident they were never officially mandatory? It was out of design because everyone knew they were not fighting and if and when they were it was on their terms not any belt organizations terms. Keep thinking GGG has power because wbc and watch them continue to do nothing.

The real boxing fans, and everybody with at last a bit of common sense will not tolerate Canelo's demands.

The only people that do are the same couple ******ed GGG haters on this site.

Quite amusing to see how such a thread shows if you care about the sport or if you are just a ****** keyboard warrior with a miserable life.

Im a big ggg "nuthugger" but **** man he's not getting younger take what you can get at this point he coulda stripped nelo of the wbc and set up a unification with saunders . And he coulda had all the belts by April. And canelo would have no choice but to fight him in September in the mean time golovkin could have a gimme fight in late june/ early july as a stay busy fight .

Truth be told any fighter and frankly any person with some level of marketing IQ would put stock into these belts including Floyd. Belts are a huge leveraging tool that fighters, manager, and so called "advisors" use at the negotiating table. Promoters use them as a marketing tool when selling fights that's just business marketing 101.

I would have to disagree with fighters transcending belts, even at peak popularity boxers are still very much dependent on casual fans coming out and watching their fights and casual fans gravitate towards fighters that are considered "Champions" by some form of organization.

It may not have made him a superstar. But, win or lose, he would have a successful PPV (300K+) on his resume to take to the negotiating table against Canelo. As it stands now, he has nothing but 97K computer geeks that get off watching him beat up, B and C level paper titlist. As it stands right now, its a 90:10 split on money, and it will be fought at 155. GGG might get a 20% split. But this thing WILL happen at 155 or no fight.
