I've enjoyed watching him batter cans, i think he has great potential, but like others have said before, i think he may struggle with someone with speed + power, maybe even just speed and a bit of movement. He can look like a stiff idiot at times.

I think he is a great puncher with both hands but he got badly hurt by a guy boxrec ranks at 48th in the world. He is similar to Wilder in regards to having lots of power and decent all around skills but a suspect chin. I think Ortiz is the future ruler of the heavyweights if he gets his chance. I like Ortiz better than Fury, Wilder or Joshua. He is a skilled boxer with a solid chin and great power in both hands. I think Ortiz is the real deal but Joshua might surprise me. He looks good for a rookie.

Whyte is a very good fighter and can punch hard. I don't think his chin is suspect, certainly no more than others. That shot from Whyte was legit and Joshua took it well and did the right thing.

How can Ortiz be the future of the division? The man is 40 years old. He's a threat to anyone right now, but he won't be around for that long.

I think he looked a lot better in his first pro fight honestly. He's put on about 20 pounds of muscle since going pro and it has really affected his game. He is very slow now and very stiff straight up and down. Still great hand speed and power but would get wrecked by a mobile, fast fighter like Wilder or Fury right now.

He hasn't needed much skill to this point, basically just steamrolls his opponents against the ropes and blasts away. Long way to go but if he loses some muscle he could go all the way

I'm not impressed then again I'm not impressed with almost every other heavyweight.

Big, slow basic heavyweight carrying too much muscle tissue. I haven't seen anything from him but making Dillian Whyte look better and a far bigger puncher than he is. I'm sorry but Whyte just does not strike me as a puncher in the slightest.
Another stuck in the mud Heavyweight. Reminds me of David Price in the sense that his feet don't react. Its almost like he is trying to use his legs but his feet are nailed to the canvas and it puts him in bad spots where fighters can step to the side and hit from him angles he can't see.

I think you need to open up your eyes....in a year or 18 months time no one beats him...go ask klitchko just how good a future he has.....he has speed, power and he's a ruthless finisher ...as for his last fight the uppercut he threw to knock whyte out was from a really talented heavyweight who landed it inside and with speed....not many heavyweights now can throw that kind of punch moving forward....I know who my tip will be for the title in 2017 ..... I think you need to take a serious look again pal if your comparing him to Bruno ...Bruno was a one trick pony who couldn't even put a combination together ....sit down have a cup of tea and watch Joshua with his combination punching when he has an opponent hurt against the ropes....his last fight he took a massive shot clean on his chin from a known puncher who weighed 248 pounds and came through it.....I detect a little envy in your comments to be honest....but we will see....no one will beat Joshua and your eat your words in a years time lol

Joshua has no chance of beating Fury. Not now, not tomorrow, next year or next decade. Comparing him to Bruno would be a compliment in itself, Frank Bruno was out boxing Lennox Lewis before getting KO'd. Do you really think there will ever come a point in Joshua's career where he would be good enough to do something like that?

I guess we will have to see we can revisit the thread and see who was right.

Fury will just turn southpaw and run rings around him. Watch what happened last time Joshua fought a southpaw and how much he struggled. Should have lost IMO. Now imagine a fighter 10x better then the Italian - that's Tyson Fury.

He needs to cut out pumping iron and focus on boxing training maybe mixing in some yoga or something to help him regain some flexibility.

I think he has potential I don't like that body type to that degree.
