Is Joshua the real deal?

even that isn't very impressive. His ko's come from him unloading on guys and the ref stopping it because they're not fighting back. Where were his ko's in the Olympics and amateurs?Comment

He maybe overated in the sense that hes top ten already. But hes as real deal as a Joseph Parker or other future talents at this stage of their careers. Hes more real deal than say Wilder was after 12 fights or so.
My gosh whats happening in your avatar with the kid getting hit?Comment

Brooklyn, New York- 2015 may have not been as good of a year as 2013 to Showtime analyst Al Bernstein - but he still considers it a solid year all around. 2015 was the year when fans finally got to see Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto vs. Canelo Alvarez. It was also the year Wladimir Klitschko was finally dethroned, after eleven unbeaten years, by Tyson Fury.
Er it was fake lol. I've changed it now.Last edited by removed; 12-31-2015, 08:26 AM.Comment

He definitely is more than just a punch.
There are not many 250lb heavys who can do the things that Joshua does. Not saying he is flawless or will definitely make it to a world title, but he is impressive.
I think most of the criticism he gets is a reaction to the hype tbh (which is way out of hand at this point). Relative to his division he is clearly a very talented guy who is still learning his trade.Last edited by Tom Cruise; 12-31-2015, 08:30 AM.Comment

Nothing he does overly impresses me from what I've seen thus far.Comment

I think you are being a little harsh. He might not have impressed me when I first saw him in Olympics, but he sure has convinced me he is a future champion now.
His ability to land punches must impress you, that fighters cant get out of the way of the punches and Josh somehow doesn't let people hit him too much. That he can stop people must impress you. Or does a boxer have to fight like Floyd and win over 12 rounds does that get you going?Comment

Who are you comparing him too?
He isnt a lightweight after all, at his size hes going to be more basic. Even so he has shown some good countering ability, he sets up shots well, he can fight inside and outside, he has good punch technique and form, hes quick (very quick relative to his size). Vs the limited opposition so far (adide from a few rounds vs Whyte) he has completely bullied them. Bahktov and Johnson were supposed to give him rounds but were cut off and not given any space or time, they were both pushed back to the ropes and beaten up.
This is why im saying the criticism seems to be a reaction to the hype. Sky sports declaring him a future great when hes only just won a British title is obviously mental,he has a lot of learning to todo and a lot of tests to pass. Obviosuly he still has a lot of flaws, whoch he has acknowlwdged. But as a HW prospect hes up there with the top 2-3 in the world.
Thats impressive in my book.Comment

I'm not comparing him to anyone I'm talking in general. If I had to compare him to anyone it would be Frank Bruno but with less skills.Who are you comparing him too?

I completely disagree with almost every point you made.
I don't see any counter punching ability, he's certainly not quick IMO, not seen an inside game and defintely not an outside one. Seems to be like an aggressive fighter who walks you down and try's to blow you out, not seen any real head movement and he's very stiff and robotic.
That's my view. It's hard to judge his skill level or just general level at this point like I said the only part of his game I've seen that he made me think that was good is his punch. Nothing else has impressed me. You say his speed has impressed you it certainly has not impressed me.Comment
