Because boxing is all about p4p ratio , Roy gave him about the same weight coming from MW , Floyd gave Canelo about the same coming from 130 , its all relevant , I didnt look at the exact figures I just know the difference in weight is not a lot between them as far as the handicap goes , Ruiz is a bum Canelo is twice the fighter .

Oscars last good win was in 2002, Manny fought him in 2008. That win isn't any better than Floyds.

P4P is the way were equalize boxers into fair fights , thats why divisions are divided into weight classes so a man fights his equal weight and size , that is P4P .

You cant compare a HW and lets say Rigo , but we can see with our eyes who the better fighter is if all things were equal , thats the meaning of P4P , No HW will have the speed and skills of a guy like Rigo , Ali was probably the closest .

And nobody is trying to make Floyd better , its about giving the guy his just dues for an outstanding career , the thread is about accomplishments and Floyd left Roy Jones for dead as far as accomplishments go .

the reason Roy is higher on the P4P list to ME is bc of the weight division jump. from 154-200 there was NO ONE even conceivable that could beat Roy Jones Jr in his PRIME. luckily for mayweather Roy Jones came BEFORE his reign at 147 & 154 bc Roy even not in his prime at his SMALLEST he was at 150lbs so luckily for mayweather he he never faced a fighter of THAT caliber EVER in his career.

Canelo was undefeated, but he wasn't at his peak prime in this fight.

Regardless, I don't think Floyd hadn't any win that compares to beating a Prime James Toney, although yes, he probably has had more solid wins over decent opponents.


Still, Roy did move up more weight and won a title at heavyweight. Sugar Ray Robinson went up about the same weight, but he never won a title at Light Heavyweight (while Jones won a Heavyweight belt).

It was the same 20lbs that Canelo out weighed Floyd , now is 175 Canelo a better fighter than Ruiz , its all about perspective because the handicap is exactly the same , give 20lbs to Ruiz or 20lbs to Canelo , which is the tougher fight .

Canelo weighed 165. Floyd weighed 150. That's 15 pounds, to correct you. It's also a different story in this case, because Canelo was drained. Ruiz was not.

Canelo weighed between 170-173ish before and after the Mayweather fight. That's a big difference in weight, and obviously he wouldn't be at physical peak performance level.

In his prime Roy was untouchable, he never bored you to death against second rate opponents coasting to easy points victories. He always put on a show.

Both are great but Roy in his prime was one of the best ever.

Was Floyd at his prime (130 to 140) boring? Maybe you never watched his in-prime fights at those weights. He was a KO artist then.

yes and it's unprovable. The lower weight guy in reality can be more accomplished in his bracket but he can't be better than the bigger guy. Kovalev kills rigo in reality. You can say rigo is more accomplished but he's not better than him. Saying he's better p4p is irrelevant and not even real. Guys fighting people in their respective divisions isn't p4p, that's the reality of boxing. For it to be sustainable there needs to be divisions or the smaller guys would get killed. Divisions allow us to see who is the best within a certain range. But that's where it ends. You guys are so stuck n boxing you don't see how ******ed what you're saying is.
