You didnt address Manny fighting Oscar where does that fight sit as far as Floyd fighting a 20lb bigger Oscar 2 years earlier , was Oscar a big win for Manny in your book ?

I didn't address Manny because this thread is about Floyd and Roy you goof.
Oscars last good win was in 2002, Manny fought him in 2008. That win isn't any better than Floyds.Last edited by BOXEO _; 12-16-2015, 07:41 PM.

You cant compare a HW and lets say Rigo , but we can see with our eyes who the better fighter is if all things were equal , thats the meaning of P4P , No HW will have the speed and skills of a guy like Rigo , Ali was probably the closest .
And nobody is trying to make Floyd better , its about giving the guy his just dues for an outstanding career , the thread is about accomplishments and Floyd left Roy Jones for dead as far as accomplishments go .

people i have this convo with tell me name me ONE HALL OF FAME PRIME FIGHTER MAYWEATHER HAS FACED THAT WASNT COMING OFF OF A LOSS
the reason Roy is higher on the P4P list to ME is bc of the weight division jump. from 154-200 there was NO ONE even conceivable that could beat Roy Jones Jr in his PRIME. luckily for mayweather Roy Jones came BEFORE his reign at 147 & 154 bc Roy even not in his prime at his SMALLEST he was at 150lbs so luckily for mayweather he he never faced a fighter of THAT caliber EVER in his career.
Roy Jones faced TWO ELITE HOF'ers in their PRIMES and SHUT THEM OUT damn near. the "title" excuse is played out this aint the old days where you were FORCED to fight EVERY contender who earned his spot and the reason i will NEVER consider mayweather "tbe" and his resume(mayweather) has the NAMES but doesnt give you any insight on WHEN he fought them or what happened in the fights.
mayweather is a better "Technical" fighter than Roy Jones i'd say but Roy's UNORTHODOX style is what made him great he didnt use the jab like a normal fighter he fought behind a LEAD LEFT HOOK(which mayweather copied as he admitted) and the SKRAIGHT RIGHT LEAD. i've seen BOTH and i can honestly say that i've NEVER seen a fighter like Roy Jones in their PRIMES EXCEPT FOR A PRE-BAN MUHAMMAD ALI

Regardless, I don't think Floyd hadn't any win that compares to beating a Prime James Toney, although yes, he probably has had more solid wins over decent opponents.
Still, Roy did move up more weight and won a title at heavyweight. Sugar Ray Robinson went up about the same weight, but he never won a title at Light Heavyweight (while Jones won a Heavyweight belt).

Canelo weighed between 170-173ish before and after the Mayweather fight. That's a big difference in weight, and obviously he wouldn't be at physical peak performance level.
also: I rate Sugar Ray Leonard ahead of both of themLast edited by UNBIASED BOXING; 12-16-2015, 07:42 PM.

Both are great but Roy in his prime was one of the best ever.

How the fck can Mannys win over Oscar be about the same as Floyds its nothing near the same , you show your bias and how double standed you are talking anything Floyd .

Dude, Floyd and Manny both fought a way past prime coke head who's last good win was in 2002.
Comparing those wins is like comparing two turds. They're both shit.
