It's ******ed how the first 3 are completely wrong. Fighting Canelo, Froch or Chavez jr would be risky fights. You know they are not because GGG is a beast and he will beat anyone. In essence all you GGG haters, hate him because you know there is no one who can stop him. What you really are, is fans. Start embracing it.

IF GGG went to fight Chavez Jr or Froch at 168, he could get to keep the titles at 160 and still get a huge fight for publicity. Because at the time Chavez and Froch were not champs. If he won belts at a different division he would have to vacate. It wouldn't be stepping aside because he could still do two things at once.

It's all about risk reward and he's no different. You have options:

1. Cotto/Canelo winner...low risk high reward
2. Froch.... Move up...high reward
3. Chavez Jr..low risk high reward
4. Unify the titles...low risk....wait for the high reward (Canelo)
5. Ward... High risk....uncertain reward

That's probably a realistic picture of what their preference in order is.

I have a few problems with your list

First you didn't say whether you think Froch is high risk or not

We are clear that he is indeed high risk right?

Second what exactly do you mean when you say reward?

Financial reward or the reward of victory?

I'm assuming financial reward as you are uncertain what type of reward comes with Andre Ward.

Because if you're talking the reward of victory a win over Ward (for legacy's sake) is 10 times greater than all the others combined!

Canelo may still be stripped if he doesn't fight GGG.

Even if Golovkin unifies all of the titles, he still won't be THE middleweight champion. Cotto is still THE lineal middleweight champion. Hence, that theory isn't accurate. The best in the middleweight division until he either leaves the division, loses, or retires is Miguel Cotto.

Goldenboy owns the Ring Mag. The mag could easily strip Cotto of the lineal title for not fighting top MW.

You say GGG hasn't fought nobody, but also say all the great fighters don't deserve to give GGG a shot. Which way is it. Even if your not a Golovkin fan…don't you at least want to KNOW weather he is great or not?

At no point have I said that All Great Fighters don't need to give him a shot. I said Cotto makes enough money without him. Chase a former WW at the end of his career, and when he doesn't take the fight cause their's **** money behind it, use that to feed the narrative that nobody wants to fight him. Several people with big names have wanted to fight him. But we're all led to believe that he passed because he wants to be the king of one of the weakest divisions in boxing.
