Or, you can just admit, that he's a prizefighter that is looking for the biggest payday first before anything else?

    Yeah, that seems about right.

Way to go K2! You'll be the masterminds behind taking two fighters to undisputed championships of the weakest divisions in boxing. Cong****!

        3. Chavez Jr..low risk high reward
        4. Unify the titles...low risk....wait for the high reward (Canelo)

That's probably a realistic picture of what their preference in order is.

History will be favorable to cotto at MW...he was the underdog, by both the public and the oddsmakers - AND he's a former WW who went up to MW to win - which only like 15 fighters IN HISTORY have done.

In only ONE FIGHT, Cotto did more at MW than GGG did - he moved up a weight class and beat the #1 fighter there. Everything else after that is just icing on the cake. He beat Geale, a former MW champ - who before Cotto ended his world; everyone was hyping up because he was GGG's best win at MW and now he's fighting Canelo - the absolute best fight available in the sport, across all weight classes. The only comparable fight in the sport to this one is Ward/Kov and Gonzo/Segura

And in terms of mass appeal - they offer none.

No matter what happens come Saturday...his three fight stint at MW can't really be frowned upon. He's more accomplished than the new media darling, the new flash in the pan

GGG has never been defeated or even knocked down. But Cotto has taken a knee to avoid further punishment.

              So yes. Different legacies.

Cotto will have a lasting legacy and pave the way for a new generation of fighters who want to be the next Cotto from the island

GGG will be forgotten and nobody will ever seek to emulate him. He's the new "Manny Pacquiao" like Matthyse until his wig gets pushed in and he'll be memed and forgotten

                So yes. Different legacies indeed

It's the same goal he's always had, and he will achieve it. Even fighters who hold the MW title will drop the belt any way they can to avoid facing him in the ring.

Canelo will have to find his own way to drop the WBC belt next without looking like he's just ducking. But you watch, he'll do it. And his fans will claim a great victory!
Why step aside if your goal is to unify the division? He could of had the WBC force his mandatory shot, but he chose the free money instead.

That's the version that'll appear in all the Puerto Rican history books. My version is that Cotto took advantage of a hobbled Martinez to claim the lineal MW title. Drained Geale to a walking corpse after Geale was basically ruined by GGG at 160. Then fought another pretender after holding the MW title hostage for over a year from the one guy in the division who had every right to take a shot at it. I don't care what Cotto's accomplishments are before he beat Martinez. He himself said he's not a middleweight, never mind the best MW.

As for GGG...What exactly makes you think he's a flash in the pan?
