Sounds like Haymon could potentially subsidize it?

I know Doug Fischer recently addressed this on a podcast when he talked about how a GGG vs Quillin/Jacobs could happen. He says it's possible HBO could give GGG permission to fight one off on the PBC, and that they did that before with Pernell Whitaker allowing him to fight on Showtime while under contract vs a Don King fighter.

Quillin would be confirmed a quack if this fight happens.

That's why the media needs to do a better job by going deeper, not just report how fighter A wants fighter B and all that superficial nonsense. They need to ask about network/promoter issues, which they are aware of. They can ask Lara or Decubas, for instance, whether Haymon can step aside temporarily to make the fight happen. They can ask the same thing to the 3G camp whether HBO would allow it, etc.

Exactly why we have these kinds of threads. Fans are simple-minded.

So 3G, the current superstar, has to be the one who should bend over backwards just to make this fight happen. And Lara, the caller, doesn't have to do anything and just be handed the fight on a silver platter. I see.

I hope HBO would do it on a regular basis so that these Haymon fighters will no longer have any excuse why such and such fight can't happen.

Maybe the networks?? They've all worked together before. Personally, I want to see it. I don't see why it's bad.
I guess you were away for a while. There's no Haymon fighters on HBO, zero in past 2 years. Lara doesn't sell at all, in fact most casuals that have seen him fight aren't coming back for more. But he does bring great purse demands. However if Haymon is willing to sink millions into it, and HBO lets him do it on PBC as a one off, then sure lets get in on. It's not competitive, but it's decent enough.

Because he's not as popular as Monroe jr.

Well there seems to be an excuse for just about every challenge. Even those challenges who reside on HBO. With Lara is that he is PBC and not PPV caliber, the PPV thing particularly was K2's official excuse, they never said anything about PBC/Haymon, Loeffler just said Lara is not a PPV fight. With Ward was that he was not a PPV fight and he would only fight him at 164. With going down to 155 for Canelo, it used to be anyone from 154 to 168, now it's only Mayweather at 154, Froch at 168. So there was a bunch of things said and advertised about Golovkin, certain fighters came knocking, and now some restrictions are being placed about those things that were advertised. Like a fine print. The fine prints are now being underlined. There was some accusations being handed out towards Quillin and the word duck was used frequently, but now that Lara is calling out GGG, all of a sudden the same fans want to act rational and talk about business and say "You know what, you guys were right Quillin can't fight GGG cause of PBC/HBO, and this also applies ot Lara." There's also GGG wanting Canelo at full 160, no catchweight, with his reasoning being that he is not a businessman, that the catchweight stuff is for businessmen, he is a fighter. Yeah, but then he tells Ward to come down to 164.
