Why should it happen? What's Lara's best win at middleweight? You wana know the correct answer? He doesn't have any wins at MW.

"But but but, he's a light middle" I hear you say but he has never won the big one. He lost to Canelo, he lost to Williams, he almost got his ass beaten to death by a slow, faded Angulo and had to go 12 with Rodriguez. And now he is fighting a blown up, C level welterweight.

Lara is great though! Lara is p4p though!

The money isn't there and Haymon/HBO aren't doing business.

Lara got a lot of money in his last fight and would want much more than that to fight GGG. Not like GGG/Lara would generate enough money to pay for what both would demand.

I'd like to see it but it would never happen. Maybe if he got a belt at 160, I can see it more likely.

How did GGG take advantage of Rosado? This was his second US fight and the purses weren't big - they sent out the now infamous and oft misquoted 'open to offers from anyone from 154 - 168' invitation which gets folk so excited, and Rosado was the best guy who answered.

Rosados trainer Billy Briscoe had seen the Ouma fight and thought GGG could be beat cos Gabe had beat Ouma. Furthermore whilst I've not been able to find fight night weights for Rosado - GGG, Gabe looked to be the bigger guy in the ring and a few months later rehydrated to 175 vs Quillin compared to GGGs 170 vs Macklin. Oh. And also kudos to Gabe - he was offered a 158 Catchweight to balance the divisional change, but refused. Which bit of this narrative suggests to you that the then relatively unknown GGG 'took advantage' of Gabe?

Ok, so the money isn't there, according to some. I'm pretty sure that Lara sells more than a few G monster opponents, put together too.

Some say, (But what's Lara done at 160). He's done quite a bit right below and it's not like G monster has not fought lesser jr middleweights than Lara.

Maybe the networks?? They've all worked together before. Personally, I want to see it. I don't see why it's bad.

All after SMW Edwin Rodriguez turned down $500k to fight GGG instead of Rosado.

Obviously. There are dozens of other more compelling fights that aren't being made for the same reason (including at least 2 guys, Kid Chocolate and Danny Jacobs who would be a bigger challenge to GGG than Lara).

But let's all act like GGG is the only one who is affected by this and he's a coward because he's not fighting guy unavailable to him at the moment that 3people on message board are clamoring for.

I hate it when posters blame fans, "Why don't you want this fight?" blah blah. As if fans have that much of an influence to make fights happen. Floyd even made a survey and Khan won, but still fought Maidana. He also fought Berto in the face of extreme opposition. Haymon has been making mismatches after mismatches and he didn't give a crap about what fans want.

At the end of the day, it's all up to these fighters and their promoters/managers/networks.

I don't even see much opposition to this fight even from GGG fans.

Because GGG got his eyes on the undisputed championship and to do that he need to have a 2016 like this

                    FEB- Tureano Johnson (IBF eliminator)
MAY - Miguel Cotto/Canelo Alvarez Winner or just give him the belt
FALL 2016 - Andy Lee/ Billy Saunders winner

Funny why isn't Lara talking about Unification at 154?

As much as I don't really enjoy watching Lara fight, the matchup does make sense.

It's almost guaranteed at this point that cotto/canelo winner wil duck golovkin. It seems like they spend far more time explaining him away than they spend trashtalking each other.
