Sorry my man you are incorrect. Roy jones was awarded the Lineal title by ring magazine, who aknowledged that Michkelsheski should have been awarded under old rules. Ring is and was the only lineal title which was first given to jack Dempsey. Again do your homework.

How? That fight would be absolutely Huge on NSB and probably cause posters to drive hundreds of miles to fight each other...however, Ward currently brings nothing as far as popularity to sell ppvs. He was never a star in the first place, but his 2 year absence made him irrelevant. Also, his personality works against him. He is extremely condescending and unlikable yet he isn't a villain because he's not a loudmouth, criminal, wannabe, cash thrower- type that sadly a lot of people are attracted to.

As far as selling out MSG, first off GGG hasn't sold out all the tickets yet, there is still a few hundred left, secondly MSG seats just over 19k, Cotto sells out MSG beyond maximum above 21k, GGG is trying to sell out a seating arrangement of a little over 15k which is NOT selling out MSG.

GGG is popular in his own right, and he is coming up, but he is not yet near Cotto, schit he might not even be passed Chavez Jr yet.
I don't know if you're serious. They sold 15,000 tickets in the first week. Loeffler & MSG have commented that over 20,000 tickets have been sold. It's normal for the secondary market to have tickets still up for sell as people are trying to scalp.

Cotto/Martinez ppv #'s were reported by Sports Illustrated at 300-315k.
NEW YORK -- Sergio Martinez’s middleweight title defense against Miguel Cotto at Madison Square Garden generated between 300,000 and 315,000 pay-per-view buys,

Golovkin has currently surpassed Chavez jr at the gate. Chavez/Fonfara had 8,636 in attendance, Chavez/Vera I sold 7,000 in San Antonio and Chavez/Vera II only sold 5,200 tickets at Stub Hub compared to Golovkin/Rubio at 9,300 at Stub Hub, Golovkin/Monroe at 12,300 in LA, Golovkin/Geale at 8,500 in NY and now over 20,000 in NY.

No thanks.......ggg has fought enough c- fighters to last a lifetime. Why would any sane person pay for this mismatch.

In all fairness though that is because he has had 2 consecutive lineal MW champions in a row duck him and should Canelo win you can add a third to that list.

I agree, anything over 200k is a success. 350k+ and GGG/Canelo determines who the next big star in the sport is.

Ward has to really get active again for those sorts of numbers to be reached. Right now, outside of a few hardcore fans no-one gives a crap about Ward and to hit a million buys you need a lot of casual fans to buy the fight as well.

                      like who?

A-list erislandy lara? a JMW who struggled with alvarez, carlos molina, vanes martyrosian, was dropped twice by angulo?

golovkin is the most avoided fighter on the planet by virtue of tha fac tthat he was blatantly ducked by martinez, cotto, and soon to be alvarez, should he beat cotto.

coto and martinez are low level hall of famers. i wouldn't vote for mattinez myself, but cotto is a hall of famer on basically any ballot.
