if he wants to keep his IBF title, he has to do his mando. Thats what champs do, they fight their mandos. They dont try and find any excuse to get out of it.Comment

Why would he want or need to keep his IBF title? No one wants to see him fight bum ass Tuerano Johnson.
The next logical move after Canelo was 168 and Ward.Comment

I know your attention span is that of a 3 year old, but GGG has been saying for YEARS that his MAIN GOAL was to UNIFY THE TITLES
In case you didnt know, "unifying the titles" means holding the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF titles all at the same time.
Now ask yourself again why it just might be kinda important to hold on to the IBF title for the time being, considering he doesnt yet have the WBC or WBO titles......Last edited by OnePunch; 11-23-2015, 05:59 PM.Comment

Oh please. He would give up that fake goal in 5 seconds if a Froch or Chavez came calling. We all know that.
So you would rather see him fighting Tureano Johnson and Andy Lee in 2016 rather than Andre Ward?Comment

We dont know that. That is pure speculation on your part. We knew he would take those fights back when he couldnt get unification bouts, but thats no longer the case.
And Johnson is blah but its a mando so it is what it is. Lee is a decent scrap. Ward would be ok if there was ZERO chance of actually getting a unification done. Unification should take precedence. Ward will still be there a year or 2 down the roadComment

It always looked to me like Ward planned from the very beginning to move up to 175. His first fight was at 172 catchweight and all the talk about GGG was just a hype and nothing else. However he get's my respect if he really fight Kovalev.Comment

Wow. Ward is getting exposed without even fighting.Listen guy,
- Negotiations for Golovkin/Lemieux commenced the Monday after Lemeiux/N'Dam - which took place the same day as Ward/Smith
- Golovkin was already mandatory for the WBC title held by Cotto who was in negotiations to fight Alvarez.
Those two items were public knowledge and widely reported. No fighter is going to commit to a fight with Ward in 2016 when they're expecting to be on call for the winner of Cotto/Alvarez in 2016. Ward knew they'd turn it down, especially at a 50/50 purse cut...
If Andre Ward seriously wanted to fight Golovkin, he would've pushed for the fight in March 2015, because in October 2014 he sent the email to read on HBO after Golovkin/Rubio - "Anyplace, anytime, anywhere". How come 5 months after Ward said that, he suddenly needed to take so many tune-ups?Comment
